Sorry to say but they need to improve their cleaning a lot.There were tiny webs n spiders in ceiling design. Wonder what would be inside the kitchen. But this place is providing good service. Nice people. Prompt service. Take orders from table. You don't have to queue up.
I have been coming here for a long time on my frequent journeys from North to South Wales etc.
There are signs this is an establishment which is struggling. The toilets leave a fair bit to be desired. The tables and chairs do show signs of considerable wear and tear.
The menu is standard griddled food which is usually prepared and cooked to order. The choice is OK, just, but service can be slow, especially when the showground opposite is open. The food is usually well cooked and tasty.
The addition of a Burger King outlet is welcome, but the service there can be haphazard. Outside there is good parking and a dog walking space. It is a pity that patrons litter the whole area so much, and the bins always seem full to capacity and overflow.
We now try to use the Halt cafe and supermarket nearby which is a significant improvement.
If this restaurant was redecorated and refurbished I would be back as a regular customer.
Food is reasonably good and served promptly and in huge quantities by nice people, however the best word to sum this place up is "sticky". The toilets are horrible and there's no cold water in the baby changing/disabled loo.
Food was good but sadly just did not have enough staff on. It was really busy little place but arrived to many tables needing to be cleared and people to be served. There appeared to be just one lovely lady doing both and was just over run.
Men's toilet had no seat and it looks like it hasn't had one for a while.
Lady serving though was up for a laugh while working her socks off :-)
Service was slow, over 10 minutes waiting for coffees. Staff were helpful and friendly and everything seemed clean. The food is nice when it finally arrives but there is no excuse for how slow service is.
Terrible place and should be closed down! Filthie, old manky toilets, freezing cold building and needed to eat with a coat on, or freeze. Terrible service, poor hygiene (no hand washing from staff moving from till to grill) and unable to look out the window as so dirty. Would never stop here again and recommended everyone avoids it!
Stop here at least once a month. Great place. Friendly folk. Good food. Sure it looks a bit dated but this is the rustic Welsh countryside!
Nice people in front food is good enough. After all its a little chief in mid wales do people really expect high resturant food. Good place for breakfast
