Nice service stop after a long drive heading to York from Edinburgh.
It has multiple services available for a traveler. Besides the variety of fuel and food to shop for, they had a car wash and a laundry service at the back for a relatively good price. The Cafe next door was closed but they serve coffee to take away. They even have a Pick up and Drop off station for packages self service by dpd.
When I was here a queue was forming due to a couple of camper vans + trailer combinations blocking off my multiple pumps each. To make matters worse the occupants of one of the vehicles seemed to be browsing the shop for about 15 min. Staff should really say something about this.
Diesel advertised as 162.9 so drove in to fill up. While filling noticed the price was 174.9. Was told my pump was Diesel Supreme. Apparently I should have used pump 3, 4 or 5 for the regular diesel. There were no signs indicating this, I feel I have been conned.
ESSO please review your signage for this fuel station.
I have never seen specific pumps for “special” fuels without clear signs at other fuel stations.
Also, for the pump with Supreme, where is the pricing information BEFORE I start filling ?
Clean and tidy servcies with amenities, and decent fuel prices.
Shop has plenty of items too choose from staff very friendly
Nice garage in the middle of nowhere... Good for a little break, stretching yourself. Sandwiches and coffee pretty cheap like other refreshments. Just by the main road and the side roar to the Holy Island...
Great petrol price considering its lication and even better, a well stocked shop.
Shawn is a gent of a man,stayed over in return for a lovely breakfast and coffee..surprisingly very quiet,even right next to the a1...gem of a cafe and owner,we will be back!
