Best KPortal Reviews
The shop has been recently renovated and it’s really nice place to be at if you’re collecting your order. The food is delicious and owners put their heart in the job - from the regular updates on their Facebook page to going personal with regular customers and knowing what their usual food choices are. Absolutely great food shop!
Would definitely recommend after trying here for the 1st time. Food was fresh, hot & delicious . Special fried rice with the slice of chicken & slice of char Sui on top. Huge prawns & chunks of chicken in it. Salt & chilli prawns crispy & spicy & lots of them. After trying a few Chinese take aways & being really disappointed this is now my new favourite & will definitely be returning
1st time ordering from Kwok Pao in a long time and I had totally forgot how amazing the food is. Salt and chilli crispy chicken was beautiful. All tasty everything hot!
One of the best Chinese takeaways in newcastle. A bit more spicier than normal Chinese
It blows my mind that this place has such a high rating. The food I got was utterly dreadful....by far the worst Chinese takeaway I've ever had by a country mile.
I don't know how it's possible to start with chilli and garlic, two of the most flavourful ingredients on Earth, and make a chilli and garlic sauce that has no taste whatsoever. The meat seemed really cheap and processed too. I will not be ordering from here ever again.

Ordered tonight and really disappointed. I’m not sure why not pouring sauce all over deep fried meat was like asking for her kidney but hey ho
, they must pour the sauce rather than do what every other restaurant seems capable of an just putting it in a container, was too much of a challenge.
The duck was full of bits of gristle and bone; I thought the taste of soil was maybe from the spring onion but bizarrely it was the hoisin sauce…not sure how they managed to make it taste like I was licking an unwashed carrot but they managed it.
The wontons taste burnt but at least they’re crispy.
Chow Mein was bland, but they managed to make up for the lack of seasoning in that in the curry. Who doesn’t love salt??
Playing find the Char siu pork was fun though it might have been better if we changed it to find the mushroom cause it felt like that’s all there was. Maybe they’re trying to encourage us to go vegan, who knows?!
The prawn crackers taste like they’ve been there since last Halloween!
Overall a disappointing spread and for £50 and not a fortune cookie in sight! .
One of my favourite Chinese takeaways I've ever had. So much so that for my 18th birthday, we ordered over £100 of food for a party, rather than go to a restaurant. Such an amazing place, always with friendly staff behind the counter.
The one downside of Kwok Pao, is that it is quite a bit spicier than most Chinese takeaways. I usually order items with Cantonese sauce when getting Chinese, because I'm not too keen on ridiculously spicy food, at least if I'm trying to enjoy a takeaway. But Cantonese sauce from here is really really spicy, despite the fact is usually isn't from literally anywhere else.
Amazing place, but your usual will probably be a tad spicier from here!
