I have a young family and they have gone above and beyond to help get our camper van back on the road. Everyone that I spoke to within the business were so helpful and friendly. They went the extra mile to help when they did not have to and really delivered a first class service. I would recommend this garage to everyone. I have never left a review for a business before however I have been so impressed by the service I have received that needed to give them a shout out for the credit they deserve.

My car broke down on Saturday morning and would not turn over even with a jump start. Unfortunately with one hour till closing Jewells were unable to fit me in for a replacement battery. However after a few phone calls they came to meet me with a booster battery pack and solved the problem. Absolutely fantastic customer service. I would recommend them to everybody.
Having previously used Jewells for an MOT and a one off starter motor repair I was really happy with their pricing and work and the lovely lady in the office. This year however not happy at all. Car went info for MOT. Failed on brakes. Bit of a back story, the car had been in to another garage whom i usually always use elsewhere in the country less than 2 weeks before the MOT. Infact repair work done on front brake wear sensor. Not a single mention that the brakes required replacing. Second failure brake hose which had been advisory for quite a few previous years(so was expecting it at some point), however was passed last year at jewells without a single mention.....
Quoted a price to have the work done to and include MOT. Upon collecting car I was informed more work was undertaken, without a prior phone call to advise of this and that there would be more of a charge and that they wouldn't know how much extra this work would cost until they spoke to the person who did it.
Car collected and driven less than a mile. The next morning I noticed the "brand new" brake disc, whole thing was rusty. Whilst I appreciate the materials brake discs are made out of, this should not be in this condition fitted as new, especially when they are probably the most expensive aftermarket ones they could supply. My rear brakes following the replacement of the hose had also stuck on in the space of 24 hours. Never had the issue before it went in with the rear brakes sticking.
I then had to wait 4 days for the invoice to be emailed me to find that the cost had risen by quire a substantial amount than originally quoted, for all work to be done and include MOT. When queried told that the price quoted didn't include mot either, When I specifically asked if it included mot when pricing the job.
Poor service. Be open honest and transparent when asked full price for everything not throw in cost of mot on top and then more work again on top. A shame as there seems to be different people working in there to last time and it feels that it is now just a money making machine.
Car will be taken back for issues to be rectified and I won't be using them again!
Over £500 for front discs, pads and new brake hose and pipe! Excessive!!
Love this garage. Been choosing to trust them for years. Friendly feel and honest, solid pricing. Love seeing mechanics who are women on the crew. Here I've never felt 'splained at. Love that. 11/10
I've always had my car MOT'd at Jewells Garage since moving to Crediton. Their customer service is single handedly second to none. And have always been very good with communicating with me if there have been any problems before progressing with any work. Absolutely great garage.
I've owned a vehicle for over 45 years I guess, and I can not remember a better garage. It's got the lovely feel of a family run business, where people remember you, but it is big enough, and been around long enough, to have the experience to tackle anything, and do it well, at a reasonable price. I now live 100 miles away but wait until I am local to book it in. 5/5
My van was delivered to this garage by the RAC having stalled in a flood. It sat for 48hours there until they could check it over. They drove it round the block (it started) and charged me an hours labour. Checking the oil a few days later, I realised that they hadn’t connected the air intake back to the engine and they hadn’t replaced the air filter, so it became apparent that they had just turned the key and not done a thorough check of the vehicle. My guess is that they were rushing. When I spoke to the owner, upset about the situation, he put the phone down on me! For this reason I no longer trust this garage. I get that mistakes are made but please own up to them in future!
