Really liked this place although it was empty. Lovely feel to the building you can almost sense the history. Some exposed parts of the Roman wall have been made into a feature. The balcony area has some nice views too much to my surprise.

They have just started doing Pie, mash and liquor! Very generous portions for a very reasonable price. I’m fussy about mash, and this was smoooth! I had the vegetarian option with a lovely parsley sauce. Tasty! Meat and vegan options are available. Also, a great pub, locals and staff are super friendly. I will be back for a meat fix soon!
Lovely pub if you want to go out and talk. We like to meet here before we go dancing or a pub crawl because it's quiet but not boring. They often have live music but the music is a little dated.

Not my local but the staff were fine. It's not exactly a destination pub but it has a poor reputation. But everyone was fine to me. I will return there.
Worth visiting just for it's historical significance as built into the once Roman walls!
Tired. The whole place is just tired. Potential certainly is there and I guess with a refurb price increases would follow... But there's so many other nicer places to go for a drink.
Not quite sure what to make of this pub. Have been here several times over the years but not for about 15 years. Recent visit in July 2019 reminded me why I don’t visit often. On the positive side, really nice beer on tap. Also, the beer garden outside is a really nice space. On the negative side, the place is looking tired and dirty. Hip hop music being played was quite annoying (I appreciate this might by my personal taste but not a fan of club music in pubs). This place has so much potential but fails to realize it. Having said all that, I’m probably just not their target clientele and I can’t blame them for that!
