This station is served by the Victoria line London Overground & national rail. This station can be very busy during the morning and evening rush hours. Also when Arsenal play at home the station is rammed packed with football fans. There is disabled access only to the London Overground platforms.
You never know if you are going to get home one time… trains delayed cancelled without any updates, station closes consistently because of fire or any other random reason. There’s no certainty on anything.
So I lost my phone on the Euston station and I travelled to Highbury without realising it
I stopped at Stratford station and no one was helpful they instead just gave me a card to send my details to
ABDUL AZIZ from Highbury and Islington station became my hero
He helped me call all the stations I had been at and also and tracked down my phone for me
Thank you so much TFL for having such selfless people to come to our rescue
There is nothing I can say to him but prayers for endless blessings
The world needs more people like you
Keep being you
A really lovely member of staff, a black guy, was so so helpful with our heavy cases and helped us get to our destination too! (towards Stevenage around 6pm this evening). What a credit to the rail business.
Disgusting staff members. At 8:10 a staff member came to me without mask without respecting the social distancing tell me I can’t transport my bike to the station. So… I can’t and he can not come closer without a mask is easy. The rules are for everyone. Overpriced and now this kind of people working at the station, is just terrible. Any question check the cctv on the main entrance.
At Highbury and Islington, I asked for directions onward to Enfield Chase from a member of London Underground staff. He was tall, slim, about 25 - 30 years old, Male and Black. I am a Black Female, in my fifties. I explained to him that I had seen him earlier as I attempted to drag my huge suitcase around the station looking for the right platform and I had noticed him ignoring me. It is part of a LU worker's job to look after the travelling public. I advised him that in future he should look out for lone, vulnerable females hauling very heavy luggage around the network and make an effort to engage with them and help.
At this, the youngish, black, male underground worker exploded at me. He told me that I was rude. I had no right to speak to him about s customer service levels etc. He made me feel even more vulnerable and he traumatised me with his unmerited aggression. I wanted him to know that I thought his attention to me as a customer was below standard so that he could improve his performance for future customers/users of the service. Fortunately for me, he had with him another worker, a gentleman called CARLOS, who is a Cleaner/Housekeeper working for a business partner of LU. The highly aggressive tall, slim, black LU worker 'flounced away' leaving a trail of verbal abuse behind him, directed at me. He refused to tell me which platform I needed for my onward journey to Enfield Chase. Carlos indicated to me that he felt sympathy for me. That he would direct me to the right platform. In fact, he carried my super heavy suitcase upstairs to the right platform and double checked, looking at the scrolling information on the destination screen on the platform that I was properly in the right place to catch my Great Northern Railway Train before he left me.
Carlos should be given a gold medal and be put in charge of a special unit at Highbury and Islington train station with the job of improving Customer Service for the whole system there. He showed outstanding customer service, above and beyond what one would expect. I've looked at other reviews for this Highbury and Islington Train and Underground station and they are not great. About 60% have written highly negative reviews, similar to my own.
Clean and tidy. Always a free place to sit. The tubs are coming on real time, so no delay so far. Easy to reach different places of Londom from here.
Timetable screens not showing the next leaving train in all of them long enough and you end up missing a train you could have easily cached.
