Having been to the Heversham Hotel a few years ago and being very disappointed with the food and service, we decided to give it another go after hearing good reports from friends. What a difference a few years make, the new manager Paul can't do enough to make sure his customers are happy. Big improvement with the food, great to see all fresh vegetables and garnishes, my husband loves the gammon. Welcoming feeling when you walk through the door, lovely log fires great cosy feeling. Highly recommend, Paul, Paul ( yes there are two Paul's ), Peter and the staff are all lovely. We will be back in the next few days and many more times.
Had a beautiful meal today, there were three of us. 2 of us has fish and chips and the other had scampi and chips. Fantastic food, well cooked and well presented. Well done to the new manager Paul. Looking forward to many more meals here in the near future.
Just had a wonderful two night stay, New manager Paul and his team were so friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble for them to make our stay so enjoyable. The hotel and rooms are beautiful and kept spotlessly clean, full cumbrian breakfast served in the dining room with open fire blazing was delicious as were the evening meals (fish and chips is highly recommended) and the beer is better than ever. Looking forward to coming back in February. ||Kind regards Janice & Barry
Have stopped over here several times now. As a Sam Smiths venue, they obviously have to follow the company policies re use of IT, cash and so on, so you need to factor that in as part of what you are getting. It makes for a refreshing change not to have everyone in the bar looking at a digital device (myself included)! A good place for some digital detox and chat with locals and other visitors. Paul and the rest of the team are really friendly and helpful, going the extra mile to help make sure the stay is pleasant.
We were on our way home after 9 days travelling over Scotland on the NC500 this gave us chance to meet up with a old friend that lives in this beautiful part of the world. Jo recommend this place to us I’m delighted she did . A fantastic experience from meeting Paul the manager to the lovely food and perfect room with a excellent large bed and hi end mattress. I’m looking forward to our return !
This was the second time I'd stayed at the hotel and it was as good as the first.||I was checked in by Paul and given a warm welcome.||My room was very well furnished with a very comfortable bed. The tray, unlike many, hotels had more than enough tea, coffee etc. The shower was amazing with Scottish Fine Soaps Company toiletries.||Breakfast was tasty and cooked to my liking by Peter.||Thank you Paul, Paul, Peter and staff for a super stay!
We were a party of 13 we all had the Christmas Turkey dinner which was excellent, hot, tasty and well presented. The service was very good, all meals came out at the same time. The dining room was warm and cosy. Everyone enjoyed the food which was not just delicious but very good value. The new managers, Linda and Simeon, are very welcoming and professional. I just hope that they can stay.
Great little hotel, great Samuel Smiths beer, and great food. Cash only pub which is good to know before hand as nearest cash machine is a drive away. Rooms are nice and very reasonable with a good breakfast thrown in.
