Buena comida. Sitio romántico y acogedor
Henrys is tucked away in a nice little secluded area away from the strips of bars and restaurants. The entrance is lit up beautifully and we were met by a lovely friendly lady at the door.
The restaurant is lovely and cozy inside and has a lot of character. We were giving a complimentary glass of Gazpacho soup, which was good.
We had a 3 course meal, my starter was the pate and toast, and my partner had the hot garlic prawns, he enjoyed them says they were quite rustic. The toast for my pate was not fresh bread, and was not warm, tasted kind of stale, the pate wasn't great either.
For the main,I had steak Medallions, and my partner had the lamb chops. We were both satisfied with our mains
For dessert I ordered the sticky toffee pudding, and my partner ordered the apple cake. I was really let down by the sticky toffee pudding, the cake did not taste fresh and had a weird spicy aftertaste.I just ate the accompanying ice cream, my partner didn't enjoy his apple cake, but still ate it out of politeness, he did not believe it to be fresh.
I was really excited to go to Henrys and although the staff are friendly, and the restaurant is cute, for me the starter and dessert were a let down.
Had dinner here on 03 Apr 23. Was by far the best meal both my wife and I had eaten in Puerto Rico. I had the Spanish Prawns and rack of lamb. My wife had the pate (home made) and fillet mignon. The food was fresh, cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. We ordered 2 drinks each which included 2 glasses of house red wine. It was a Cabernet Sauvignon which was smooth and easy to drink. We had a fantastic welcome from the staff and owners who couldn’t do enough for us. The restaurant itself is in a traditional family setting which was a welcome change from the commercial style restaurants we had been visiting. We will be going back here for our last night and we’re only sorry we didn’t find it sooner. If you’re looking for amazing food in a traditional setting with friendly staff then I can highly recommend Henry’s.
En sjarmerende restaurant drevet av et veldig hyggelig britisk par. Vi var der på en stille kveld, men det la ingen demper på opplevelsen. Vi var tre stykker som spiste entrecôte, hamburger og en curry kyllinggryte som ikke stod på menyen. Alle var veldig fornøyd med maten, desserten,(brownies med is) og vertskapet. Kommer tilbake ved en annen anledning!
Persoonallinen, brittiomistaja noudatti meidät pöytään, jonka äärellä kuulimme ravintolan historiaa 1980-luvulta edellisten omistajien ajalta. Nykyiset omistajat olleet kolmisen vuotta. Paikka sisustettu erikoisesti kravaateilla, joissa asiakkaiden nimet. Ruoka oli omaperäistä. Yhdistelmä klassikoita ja brittiläistä keittiötä. Vaatisi enemmän perehtymistä etukäteen, johon nyt ei meillä ollut aikaa. Kannattaa käydä yllättämässä itsensä. Täällä on palvelu aivan eritasolla kuon ketjuravintoloissa. Suosittelen.
Great little hidden gem, go and support a local business away from the rubbish shopping centres you won't be disappointed. The owners are friendly the food is great and you even get a visit from the chef. So nice we went 2 days in a row.
Away from the usual cheap eats and lagers, this is a hidden gem of quality dining at reasonable prices. Friendly staff who have a few minutes to chat that makes you feel more than welcome.
Sadly not as popular as it deserves to be post Easter, but pay it a visit during your summer holidays - you won’t be disappointed
Go to the Henrys! Best experience here, you feel welcome right away. Good food, delicious wine, great, authentic hosts, good prices. Quaint restaurant. We love it and can recommend it to everyone. We are sad that we didn't discover it sooner! Best regards from Herford.:)
