Best KPortal Reviews

One of the very few places that offer authentic halal Japanese ramen and sushi. Prices are reasonable and portion sizes generous. There have been a few times when we've come and certain menu items have not been available but it's reassuring to know that if ingredients have run out or a particular chef is not it then specific dishes can't be made as everything is made fresh to order on site.
Great food! The staff were so lovely and the food was so flavourful! I recommend the street bowls especially the kaarage chicken. Will definitely visit again soon
We had the Street bowls and the Karaage Chicken ramen bowl and wow. We were not disappointed, the street bowls were bursting with flavour, the chicken ramen bowl was nice too but if you’re a slave to your taste buds, would highly recommend making your own street bowl, it was 10/10. Really authentic environment too with the decor, cutlery and serving dishes too. Also try the peach tea drink, that was ????????????, better than Lipton Peach Ice Tea in my opinion.
This was the first time experiencing Japanese food in the north of England.
The food was absolutely fantastic. One of best meals I have had outside in a while where I and my 2 family members thought the food was value for money and great tasting. The chefs were from Japan or of Japanese heritage. This makes a difference to the flavours and potentially how authentic it is.( I have not been to Japan or eaten halal Japanese food else’s where to make a comparison on how authentic. )
We had the vegetable gyozo. The dumpling appeared as it was made in house( I cannot confirm this) the right balance between the dumpling pastry and filling. A delicate flavour with a sauce, which appeared to be seasoned in house.
The beef bao buns were just fantastic. 3 in a portion. These are made on the hibachi grill. This gives a smoky BBQ chariness and the meat is cooked and very tender. The flavour profile was on point. The bao bun was soft but not soggy and moist. It held its structure and complemented the ratio of meat and pickle served. The only other place I have had bao buns that I could recommend is Corna in Bradford .
My favourite was the prawn ramen noodles. We went for the spicy option. The tempura batter was light and crispy. The prawns were cooked to perfection . The stock/soup had layers of flavour and certainly had a kick. The noodles were as you would expect. The pickled pink ginger and garnish all enhanced the flavours. We shared this between the three of us
Our final dish was the rice bowl(large) and we ordered two chicken and two prawn. This was also spicy. (Spicy yaki)
The prawns were cooked on the habachi. They had a nice heat and again cooked to perfection. The chicken was fried and lovely and moist on the inside. the coating had a distinct taste. I would order that chicken and prawn again.the sticky rice was cooked as expected. I prefer ramen so would order my own ramen next time and the same starters and would share the rice bowl. Would I go back. Absolutely . I have not been paid for this review . oh and the egg you get in both the rice bowl and ramen was an egg like I have never had before. It had a taste of soya sauce but just amazing. There was a fight for the egg
We really enjoyed trying out a new cuisine! We were quite surprised when we heard of a Japanese restaurant opening in Bolton and were so eager to try it and it really did not disappoint. The staff was very helpful in explaining what some items on the menu were and he was patient in waiting for us to decide our order. We didn't sit inside so can't really comment on that since we got takeout, but they were actually quite quick in preparing the food. The food itself was amazing, especially since I was unsure of my combo choice for the street bowl since it was my first time trying it, but it was definitely delicious. Defo going to be coming back soon and trying all the different options! 100% recommend.
Authentic Japanese in the heart of Bolton! A great cosy place with a fabulous selection to choose from and halal! We got the street bowl and bao buns as starters. The food was succulent and packing with flavour. The sticky rice was so moreish and we couldn’t get enough. The karaage chicken is definitely a must! Will be visiting again soon!
Having seen the great reviews, we popped in at lunch time. It was quiet (that lull after the students have been in) and our order was taken by friendly staff. It arrived well presented, hot with the perfect balance of taste and sauces. The edamame beans were delicious. We will be ordering from here again.
My son loves a good ramen and halal options can be limiting. We were so pleased to have seen a post on Instagram and couldn’t wait to try it.
Unfortunately, they didn’t have the Wagyu available. So we tried the large street bowl, ramen and boa.
And the boy even ordered a bowl to take home.
Only real downfall is there isn’t enough seating. But not being local I’d still be happy to wait, as service is fast and you wouldn’t be waiting long.
We will definitely be returning soon
