Three bad experiences here: came for a service and when I asked what was included I was brushed off and told "the usual", then recently I failed an MOT and when I asked about how to get the repairs done they seemed entirely uninterested in helping me, when I went to a second garage they retested and found that Hamble Garage gave me an incorrect emmisions test, something I could have spent a lot of money chasing to fix. Save yourself the hassle and go to Abbey Tyres/ Abbey Motors around the corner instead, 100 times better customer service and knowledge.
My Tesla’s warranty was due to expire so I took it to Hamble Garage for a vehicle check . They completed a really comprehensive check including the battery and it was obvious they had a really good knowledge of EVs. Highly recommended.
Has been using Hamble Garage for 3 years mainly to do the service and MOT but this year whoever was doing the service should be ashamed of himself. First of all few days after service I spotted two dents in skirt and that weirdly enough near places where the jacking points are and engine cover is not fully fitted which was rattling against the road. I basically ignore that as didn't want to fight over old car seems pointless at that moment, as long as it is driving and turning I am fine with it. But then happen most unexpected and disgusting thing that I ever experienced, that sort of negligence should not have happened but it did. So mechanic left the torch while he was changing the oil and it ended up blocking my steering I lost control over the car for second while I was coming off the motorway and slide on to the other lane. Everyone could imagine what could have happened in different circumstances. Anyway decided that I will go to the garage and explained to them myself what happened expecting at least "sorry". They admitted that torch belongs to them but that was all, didn't heard a single word of apology only that they will talk to him. Waited a week that they might gonna make some sort of statement about it and decide to actually apologise for inconvenience caused by their service... Heard nothing back so that is why I wrote this review.
Workmanship was good. Front of house approach to customer service could do with some improvement to be honest.
After purchasing a new car from doves Vauxhall Southampton a few years ago I have always taken the car back to this dealership for MOT and servicing. But since doves Vauxhall has recently closed I have now decided to take my car to a local garage in Hamble for my MOT and servicing. I have also had to put the car into this garage because the car had developed some alternator problems a couple of years ago, and I found them to be very efficient at what they do and their prices were extremely competitive. My latest visit was for an MOT and an interim service and once again this service was outstanding. The car was dropped off at 9 a.m. and I received a call at midday informing me that the service and MOT had been completed without any issues. Once again another extremely positive visit to this garage.

My local garage of choice. Whether it be for an mot or repair I have always found them helpful friendly and great service. My car has been left their overnight when it's broken down (several times haha) and I have called them with the issues and they have fitted me in when they have been able to and no problem has ever been to big or too small. They are polite and friendly and it's nice to see a family run business. Any mot failures they have dealt with with regular supplier deliveries etc and I have never had to wait too long to get my car park. It's handy being next to a train station if you need to leave a car and don't have anyone to drop/collect.
Hamble Garage is my go to garage for all my car needs (except tyres) I've gone there for the last 13 years of mot's and I can honestly say that you have no worries about a "dodgy" mot they are extremely thorough meaning you feel a lot safer driving away when it's passed. Pre covid I could get an mot booked in within 48 hours although my last mot earliest they could book was 5 days away so advise to book well in advance. They have done allsorts of repairs on my car and found them to be reasonably priced. It's also very handy being next to a train station if you have to leave your car there. Its nice to support a local family business rather than a huge corporate business.
