I've been coming to this lovely butchers since I was a little girl when we had our summer camping holidays to Lofthouse and surrounding areas. They are the best sausages and pies in Yorkshire. A proper pork pie with super tasty meat and jelly... Ooosh!
The best pork pies ever. No soggy bottoms, (crisp and thin) no empty shell, (filled to the top) no heartburn (why we havnt had a pie in years). First bite and had to eat the lot, didn't even get out of the car park!! One pork and Branston pickle and one pork, blackpudding and apple. Delicious!!
we bought sirloin steaks, we were staying on the campsite near by.
lovely gentleman served us, 8wks ago, we saved the steaks for a special occasion. I must say it was the leanest & best tasting steak we've had in many years.

Salt salt and more salt. Pork pies, pork sausages and lamb? kebabs. All worryingly salty. To disguise poor meat perhaps? 2days on the loo seem to suggest so. I did wonder why there was so much stock in the shop late Saturday afternoon
Had an excellent steak pie for dinner tonight and for breakfast had their streaky smoked and Pately sausages. Pie had thick chunks of steak and the gravy wasn't thin. Pastry was incredibly. Crisp and firm. Bacon was thick. Sausages were nice and peppery. Great little place.

Excellent quality meat, sausages, bacon, black pudding etc.
My favourite butcher's in the UK and one I make a point of visiting whenever I come back to Yorkshire.
Super friendly butchers, we stayed in the cottage behind their shop and I bought a £20 pack of 4 steaks, pork pies, pasties and THE most delicious meat pie with gallons of gravy. Would heartily recommend this brilliant little gem of a place.
