Third appointment I’ve had at this surgery and third time I’ve left this surgery completely unsatisfied. Every appointment I’ve had was with a different dentist as they keep leaving and I’ve always booked for a scale and polish. they have never completed a polish and I have left with visible staining. Only reason I went back this time after the previous dentist caused pain and sensitivity at the last scale and polish which lasted 6 months, was because the receptionist assured me that this dentist is experienced and very good at what she does.
I had an assessment for Invisalign at another surgery, where the dentist advised I needed a clean due to some staining and little bits of tartar which showed up on an X-ray. I didn’t book in at that surgery because it was more expensive for a scale and polish as it’s a private clinic. I booked instead with this clinic. Upon booking my appointment, I requested a scale and polish which the receptionist booked me in for. When I got to the appointment, the dentist advised I didn’t need a scale and my teeth were fine but she will do it anyway but no polishing as she didn’t believe there was staining. I have staining and little bits of buildup as advised by my orthodontist. She then continued to advise that if I wanted a polish that would be a private treatment and there would be an additional cost. This is outrageous, I have never been to a dentist where they sell scale and polish’s separately and I used to attend another nhs clinic for the last 30 years where scale and polish are one treatment. I think the dentist said this because there was a poster in the waiting area advertising stain removal as a treatment. So rather than provide a very common nhs dental treatment, they tried to upsell a polish as a separate treatment. This is shocking and not how nhs treatments work and contributing to ‘big dentist’. Avoid at all costs. Walked out and booked in with the hygienist at the orthodontist as even privately a scale and polish is one treatment. The receptionist here should have clarified when I booked that this clinic sold scale and polishes separately and I wouldn’t not have booked here. I now am paying for another clean next week privately due to the poor standard of work here. Either you are a nhs provider or a private clinic, but if you are a going to go down the private road, the services, standard of work and facilities should be higher warranting the price tag. I should have probably walked out when the receptionist doubled up as a dental assistant. Reading the rest of the reviews, it’s no surprise the clinic is always empty. Just in case it’s unclear, do not come here!
Dentists may be good but the prices are abnormal,I had to clean the tooth canal for which I calculated £500,but the price list indicates that one canal £300, two canals £400.3-4 canals£500. Question why the maximum amount was calculated for one canal and where else the filling of the tooth £300. You're probably joking about these prices
I phoned them a short while ago for an urgent appointment as I clearly have an infection in a broken tooth. I was told that as I hadn't been since 2020 they'd removed me from their list, and this was standard with all dentists.
I phoned Scott Arms dental practice as I remembered using them over 6 years ago for an emergency appointment. They confirmed that they still had me on their list and I have an appointment for today.
Good staff, nice and polite, but really disappointed about the dentists.
I had to take some emergency appointments with a Pakistani male dentist. Every time he made me feel really uncomfortable like I was a burden to him, his attitude sucks as he is really arrogant.
I had some root canal treatment done by a specialist in root canal treatment (privately) and, despite other doctors said it was perfect, he had to complain something about it. And after all the only advice he was able to give me is to take all my teeth out without saying anything about how to save them (what I was hoping to get).
Since then I have decided to get the treatment done by private clinic as I think NHS dentists are really incompetent and have lack of knowledge. Maybe this is not the case for all the NHS dentists but deffo for the guy I am taking about.
I don’t recommend this practice to anybody, especially I don’t recommend this male guy.
Louise is the best dentist I have ever had. Nice receptionist. Dental treatment at the best level. Everything explained and offered wide options. Staff very friendly.
The staff is very friendly and supportive, including their receptionist. The dentist is very professional and addressed multiple issues at the same time whilst also created a care plan at the very first appointment. She was very informative and calming. Would recommend their services.
Don't recommend if you need teeth put just looked on nhs and they still have teeth taken out as a service which they do not provide. Refer you over to place over in Cradley health. In pain now bad with mine & still waiting for referral to get back to me had to take matters into my own hands having to pay now for emergency as in too much pain
Could not be more disappointed with this dentist practice. I was in immense pain with a dental issue, my neck had also swollen because of it and I had a fever. I'm not registered at a dentist locally because none of them have space so I called every dentist in the area until I got to Great Bridge and spoke to a receptionist. I explained my situation and she advised to call in the morning for an emergency appointment and if there were any available they would see me, even though I wasn't registered. I remained in pain for another day and called in the morning and got through to a different receptionist. I asked for an emergency appointment and was told that even though they had some available they were "saving them for their own patients". I explained my situation again and asked what else I could do as I needed to be seen and the NHS have no real provision for emergency dental care and she just told me to "try again tomorrow".
I am so disappointed in the sheer lack of care and compassion from a healthcare provider to someone desperate for help, especially when space was available but being withheld, and absolutely no alternative suggestions being advised. Perhaps the dentists at this practice are kind hearted people, but that's irrelevant if you can't even get to see them.
