It’s just “ok” to be honest. Tried here as my regular was closed (which is just around the corner) I have to say, it’s average at best. I have to say I was expecting it to be good because the other one is SO good in comparison.
I did go rather late, they were just closing. Also, maybe they didn’t have the normal chef or something..
Staff very friendly indeed. I feel bad leaving this review, but I also feel the need to be honest.
“Good Friends” needs to up their game hugely in my opinion, and not just rely on being the Chinese which happens to be more in view than others, leaving quality behind is never good.
Maybe I’ll try again on another evening..
Nov 2021: We have had take away Chinese food from Good Friends for many years. There are better Chinese takeaways but not in the CB9 area. The Chef Specials are a cut above the other menu items. Generous amounts especially of the meat element of meat dishes. Recommended.
Great Chinese, can’t fault
Great Chinese food, order food on the phone or orderil food inside. The staff are very friendly. Please note,they do not accept cards at Good friends, they accept cash only. Highly recommended if you fancy a Chinese take away.

The worst Chinese I have ever tasted, in my whole life
Even called them and told them this Sweet & Sour Chicken balls when bitten into dripped grease and batter was like dough, egg fried rice was just a foil-tin full of mush.
I still feel sick urrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr brrrruuuuuuuuu
