Best KPortal Reviews

I grew up in reddish and this was always my family's go to Chinese takeaway. I was worried the food would not stay as good when It recently changed hands but on my last visit, it was as spectacular as ever. I definitely recommend the special chow main (lots of meats and veggies, all fresh). We also had spring rolls and prawn toast, both fresh and crunchy. The char su in black bean is also very tender and tasty. The salt and pepper chips were definitely more on the spicy side but still delicious.
Got a Dry Chow Mein which they admitted was "slightly off," but it was completely bad and the Beef spring rolls too. Couldn't get a full refund, and the person who ate it is now dealing with nausea. Frustrated with the poor handling of the situation – rarely leave reviews, but this was handled terribly despite their admission. I am sure you know who I am. I feel for my colleague who eat that. The noodles smelt like they were left out for days!!! Completely let down as I was loyal customer.
I've just been in for the last time and witnessed them drop a sausage on the floor then put it back in the fryer and put it back out to sell. I asked them why is that sausage back out to sell, they initially denied it but then they admitted it and took it off display and threw it away.
Just before all this had happened I asked why my order was taking so long, the lad serving gave me a dirty look and had said with an attitude that mine was next.
This chippy had already gone down hill since the new owners took over a few months ago.
The chips are mainly tiny bits and hard the portions are small and there's never enough sauce on the meals.
The lad taking the orders and serving is rude and arrogant and everything takes too long.
Just moved to the area so tried out the local takeaway. We had sweet and sour chicken hong Kong style, vegetable chow mein, egg fried rice and a couple of portions of spring rolls. Food came quickly given that we were a walk in, fresh, hot and delicious! Don't listen to the foul mouthed reviews of others, if people wanted more food they should have read the menu properly or ordered more!! Shall be returning, so pleased this is my local!!
Nice food, friendly staff, hard working ???? Shout out to Zin, hopefully get your holiday to China next year ????
Terrible! (woman hadn't a clue what i was asking for so someone had to intervene to explain that I asked for 2 cod after he noticed she wrote down 2 coke). He then had a go at her. I assume he told her she was a plank! Large chips were just about enough to feed a toddler (£3 for a small handful). Chips were also soggy and luke warm. The fish was stingy at best in size but it didnt matter seeing as it was really soggy, dripping in oil and disgusting (i lost my appetite just plating it up) I also ended up with a tub of mushy peas despite ordering curry sauce. (Which didn't surprise me one bit because The Plank looked confused AF again when I ordered that too.... so I said it loud and clear again.."CURRY SAUCE! YOU GOT THAT RIGHT YES?" Besides I didnt want her writing down another coke by default again.
(Seems that saying it louder didn't help her understand any better. Mushy peas and curry sauce sound much the same no matter how loud you repeat it apparently)
Prawn crackers were the only thing remotely edible and the rest went in the bin which is a shame seeing as they were the only thing that didnt cost me money. So....i had some toast for dinner instead. £20 down the drain! Waiting time was ridiculous aswell. I'm actually in disbelief that there seemed to be regulars popping in. What utter slop do those people even eat at home if they consider that revolting food a Saturday night treat? Even the paper they were wrapped in smelled questionable!
Safe to say I won't ever be returning.
Chippy is much better under new ownership prices are reasonable I would say and the chips sausage and fish are all good, curry sauce a little strange though. Cash only is still annoying as all the other local takeaways accept card payments.
One of the top Chinese/Fish & Chip places I've been to! Chips are proper chippy chips, salt & pepper chicken pieces are *perfect* and I highly recommend the cashew chicken dish.
The staff are always incredibly polite and prepare the order quickly. Me and my boyfriend are very happy this is our local!
