Absolutely fantastic food! We stopped here for some warm brandy’s as it was so cold and we were really glad that we had made that choice as we decided to eat here. The food here is of good quality, very tasty and well presented. The pub itself is extremely clean and spotless, it is beautifully decorated too. The staff are welcoming and friendly. Our bill was very reasonable for what we had, two mains and desserts plus drinks was only £51! The food was plentiful as well. Would I go back…..100%yes!
I visited the Golden Lion for lunch with friends. From the outset, we were impressed by the warm, friendly welcome. The premises is immaculate and the ambiance relaxing, with soft music, and it’s a very pleasant place to be. ||Lunch itself was superb. The menu includes traditional pub food but also some interesting alternatives. I was delighted that our puddings were actually homemade as so often pubs and restaurants buy in bland desserts. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, which were perfectly cooked and presented. The wine was excellent and competitively priced too. ||Service was exceptional. The staff obviously wanted to ensure we were happy and did so without being overwhelming. They were a delight. ||My partner and I had links to the pub in the past and I am so happy that Adrian, Pam and their family have taken over. The Golden Lion is in safe hands and deserves to be a great success. ||Whether you want to visit for a drink or dine there, I’m certain you will be impressed.
We tipped up in Corbridge on Sunday 7th April as a break from walking Hadrian's Wall. Sunday lunch service was in full swing and we thought we'd be turned away from the restaurant which was clearly full. Not so. A table was laid for us in the bar and we enjoyed a superb meal and superb service. Memorable day.
Spent one of our regular weeks in Corbridge recently. Visited this very friendly and welcomingestablishment 3 times. Midweek dinner ,midweek lunch and Sunday lunch all excellent. Its a family business and this shines through rather than some chains with their tired business model. Food is great smallish menu freshly cooked. Roast beef and steaks a stand out for me but all good. Pies got a good mention as well! Small wine list but very reasonably priced. Good atmosphere and relaxed feel. Looking forward to the summer visit beer garden and more enjoyment best establishment of its type in the Village give it a try!
Ten of us booked luch for the end of a local walk round Corbridge. We were comforably seated at a long table and had our orders taken promptly. We ordered a range of lunches from lighter meals to full meals. Everyone was pleased with the quality and service was attentive without being overpowering. Draught beers were good with a range of soft alternatives. We thought it was excellent value.|The pub/hotel is situated centrally in the town within easy access to shops, transport links and country walks. Aparrently its just been refurbished and was very pleasant.
Dined here with a friend last week. Heard it had recently been taken over so was keen to try it out. Was not disappointed... starters and mains were superb. We were looked after so well. Really nice pub... lovely ambience and it's run by great people... I really do wish you all the very best.
I went here tonight and had gammon, egg and chips but also got a gnocchi. The staff were all so lovely and welcoming. The food was really nice and good portion sizes. Will definitely be back.
What a fantastic experience. We were made to felt so welcome and at home. The food and wine were absolutely perfect and the service was impeccable. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Golden Lion and we’re looking forward to returning. Well done, Adrian, Pam and family.
