Ordered from golden fry Normanby, rang them up as we had received the wrong order to be told the food had come from golden fry Ormesby and to ring them instead.
I rang Ormesby and was told that our replacement food was on the way. 5 minutes later our food turned up, the delivery driver then asked for the other food back as he had been told to deliver the food to the correct address. I told the man that the food had been opened and had been put in the bin as it was not our order, and he still asked for the food back!!! Absolutely disgusting!
Food first class. Portion size is first class, and probably the best tastiest fish in Middlesbrough. With other chip shops sometimes the fish is good and poor quality chips other times it's the other way round but here it's good chips good fish and good portions all the time.
Goldenfry is a bit of a gamble. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it's not. The prices are reasonable, but the garlic sauce is a rip-off. It's £1.70 for a large, which is tiny. And the quality is inconsistent - sometimes it's thick and sometimes it's like water. If you want your food hot, you have to collect it yourself. Otherwise, it'll be cold by the time it gets to you. The chips are either well done and brown or golden
Never, ever have I been here and been able to get served immediately without waiting for something or other to be cooked, however once served the portion sizes are immense and could probably feed two people with one portion sized offering.
The majority of staff are really pleasant but not all one server always has a face like a smacked bottom, rarely cracks a smile and can come across quite prickly with how she addresses people. Parking out front can be a bit of an issue at busy times of the day and there's not much room to manoeuvre due to the other businesses on the same cul-de-sac. Food is good, pricey for certain things but I guess that is the same story with most fish & chip shops now. ????????
Placed a £40 order at 5pm and waited just over 2 hours for delivery. I then called the shop to be told ‘it left the shop 20mins ago, you should’ve already had it but il ring the driver now and see where he is.’
I then waited another 15mins to be contacted back with an update to which they never bothered, When I called the shop I was then spoken to like dirt by the staff member and he was extremely rude over the phone saying ‘it’s been sent out, what else do you want me to do’
I then waited another 10mins to be greeted with Pizza/Parmo boxes smothered in grease and stone cold food.
Parmos are usually decent from here but on this occasion it will be the last time I ever order from here again as I like my food hot when I pay over the odds for it…

Waited an hour and 20 minutes for food to be delivered for it to be cold also extra portion of chips missing. GoldenFry used to be great but last few deliveries have gone down hill!
The place is a joke, food is not too bad but staff are absolutely horrible with such a disgusting attitude, we started getting it for delivery. We only live 0.3 mile away from this shop but still takes the driver 15 to 20 minutes to arrive with food after leaving the shop, obviously it turns up cold, staff don’t care when you phone to inform them and complain. WILL NOT USE THESE EVER AGAIN
This fish shop is normally beautiful I don't know wether it was because I got it delivered but food was cold and the batter was soggy plus I don't think the container helps would be better just doubly wrapped in paper
