Don't even know there are two criteria for qualifying for free covid tests. One for certain conditions and the other for those who work in higher risk areas and are at risk of spreading covid i.e. residential care homes for disabled children. Luckily, Howwood Pharmacy knows the difference. Kept 20 minutes only to be given wrong information. That will be the last time I go there....
Used to be very good but has gone downhill. Very slow service, have to wait on average over 10 minutes for your prescription to be found or put together. Visited today to be told I had no prescription. Called the doctor surgery to find prescription had been sent 10 days earlier. Called the pharmacy for the lady who served me to say 'Oh yes we have 2 prescriptions for you I'll get them ready for you to collect!'. Unbelievable.
They are nice enough but the staff basically know nothing (I've waited literally 5 minutes for them just to find out a price for something before), they never have anything in stock and they are so slow, it's almost like they're going in reverse.
Sometimes very good service, sometimes not.
The display and he overall appearance is really horrible!
No wheelchair access! And no bell or there like to make yourself known as disabled user!
All in all - if it weren’t a convenient pharmacy I wouldn’t go there.
So, we call them to ask if they have a specific med which I’d been struggling to get. Yes, they did, so we drop the script down. Today, we go to collect the meds. Despite my name being down on their script list, they claimed they never got the script - insisted they definitely didn’t get it, in fact!
Between my carer and myself, we got several versions of events, including, and in order, “You never gave us the script” (not true), then, “I remember now - somebody collected the medication already”(not true), to them again denying, to me on the phone this time, that they ever had the script, to them saying “So sorry, we’ll have a look and find it” - find the prescription they never had in the first place, for the medication which had already been collected?!
Some time later they ring me, not leaving a message, only trying once. I call back.
How strange! They’ve found the script that we never dropped in, for the medication that someone else had already collected! They had a bizarre excuse, pretty much trying to blame my carer because they made a mistake with my name - my name which was on their prescription list all along, even as they denied they’d ever got the script!
I insisted they deliver it to me, which was the least they could do, given the stress, inconvenience & wasted care time they’d cost me. At least they managed that without further mistakes.
My care hours cost me precious time, time that could have been spent caring for me, time wasted dealing with pure incompetence, denials, and disorganisation.
Never EVER again! I only wish I’d read their online reviews before using them!
