Terrible unfortunately, so bad.
Dry chips, cod is the same thickness as sea bass and the batter thick as a doughnut to compensate but undercooked.
We had food twice from here during our camping holiday. The food is cooked fresh and was delicious. The two lovely ladies that run it were fabulous!
Disappointed, the smell of old cooking oil sat on our clothes for hours after going in here. No cards taken and only works in cash. Slow service generally needs an overhaul and old lady needs her son to take over or sell up. Generally disappointing.
The reason for the slow service at this fine establishment is that both shop staff are senior citizens. Youngest was in her 70's and had a heavily bandaged leg, the eldest well into her 80's. (see picture) The fish and chips tasted ok with no personal health repercussions but shop cleanliness was an issue I consciously turned a blind eye too. The whole affair was actually quite funny because irrespective of the queue, the staff only had one speed. Very very slow and steady. It's important to respect your elders and betters, so nobody in the queue said anything about the delay and everyone was very polite and waited patiently. I wasn't the only one to see the funny side and several of us exchanged knowing chuckles. It was like being in a time warp! On the wall, (not in the picture) there was a quality award from 1998 and one from before that time, so faded that I couldn't read the print. Hilarious. I hope that both of these senior citizens enjoy what they do and continue to do so. I also hope that, should I be fortunate enough to get to that age, I have discovered a way of life that is more rewarding than fry fish!
I visited as part of a vacation tour across the UK. This was, hands down, the best fish and chips I've ever had. The two sweet ladies who served us were absolutely adorable. The service was friendly and the portions were huge. I highly recommend this shop.
Fish was hot but batter had no seasoning and the fries were soggy. Everything was pretty tasteless and it was $26 for two fish and chips. Take a pass on this tourist trap and got to SeaWave in Menai Bridge.
Awesome chip shop.
A bit of a time warp but added to the charm, chips were cooked fresh. The two 'young ladies' serving were chatty and welcoming, even though we were late arriving.
Would happily visit here again.
