Really great to see this lovely old Tudor pub restored to such a high standard. The Bar area is cosy, with a light airy restaurant. I will definitely visit during the summer months and sit in the beautiful terraced garden with one of their great choices of Gins ;). The food being served is delicious. Went for the burger but going to come back and try some of the fine dining on offer at the George & Dragon, tried a few nibbles the chef sent round. Friendly atmosphere, this pub has certainly been added as a new favourite place!
Outstanding food that wowed all three generations of diners at our large table. Lovely pub restaurant with an amazing choice of menu. We all ordered differently and we all tasted everything from everyone’s plate - even the kids…
Nothing left on anyone’s plate at the end and a few had room only for the beautiful home made ice creams and sorbets.
Absolutely worth the ‘post Xmas dinner’ waddle afterwards!
Staff were very friendly, efficient and made us all feel very comfortable.

Lovely lunch for mother in law's birthday. Food enjoyed by all; pork belly, fishcake (chips are extra). Nice pint of Frome bitter too. Surprised it was quite quiet.

What a fantastic Saturday lunch! Having decided to try the bar menu, I was overjoyed with the whole experience.
I had the G&D Burger which was the perfect size and tasted phenomenal. With this I thoroughly enjoyed some triple cooked chips - crunchy on the outside while soft and fluffy inside. These came with curry mayonnaise and I can’t rave enough about it; super smooth and perfectly balanced. The word sublime doesn’t do the food justice.
The service was impeccable. We were welcomed with smiling faces and nothing was to much trouble.
The atmosphere is warm, cosy, relaxed with beautiful fireplaces which didn’t cause one to feel stifled in heat. The music wasn’t to loud and it assisted in creating a perfect ambience.
It goes without saying - I’m looking forward to coming back.
I have never written a review before but felt compelled after seeing some of the negative ones. Up front - I love this pub and food. Staff are very welcoming and polite. Have dined a number of times over last few months having had a the summer and autumn menu. Each time we have visited with a different set of friends or family. I have never heard anything from anyone other than being highly complimentary. I find the negative comments really odd as I just have not had that experience. This is not a typical pub and far removed from a stack the menu with everything under the sun. It is a small, yet perfectly and carefully selected menu with as many locally source ingredients as possible. The staff have been more than happy to adapt things slightly for peoples dietary requirements. Each time I visit I try something different and have yet to be disappointed. We have popped in after a long country walk for a pint and quick bite and had celebrated birthdays with a slap up meal. Perfect for all. Really lovely, unpretentious place. Decor has been done tastefully too. Really love it. The only issue with blowing the trumpet of such a lovely place is not getting a table when it gets better known.
Enjoyed our visit. A lovely old pub with excellent service. Went for the burger and a pint, had a fantastic burger, we all went for the traditional but chicken or veggie options available and a nice pint of beer for a very good price. Will certainly try it again.

Do not give this company your custom. Employers have refused to pay owed tips and outstanding holiday pay to all staff despite consistent reminders, and are now withholding tips and threatening employees. Tips have not been received by staff since January this year.
This was a hard working group of employees who do not deserve to be treated this way. For a pub with expensive pricing the profit is not seen by those doing the hard work.
