Sorry to say, but a very disappointing meal from Fu Lam in West Kirby today. Ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken with half fried rice and half chips. The chicken was difficult to find, buried in thick heavy batter. The takeaway meal cost 8 pounds. There were no vegetables at all, or pineapple etc in the sweet sticky sauce. I took the meal back to Fu Lam to say I think there had been a mistake with my order, as there were no vegetables in the main dish. I was told by the Chinese lady, who I presume was the owner, that people around here don’t like any vegetables in their sweet and sour chicken! I replied that I did, and I always got them in my sweet and sour chicken automatically at every other Chinese takeaway I have been to. The lady said she was sorry, but that was how the dish came. I said I couldn’t eat the food as it was very stodgy and unhealthy with so much thick batter, and no vegetables at all. The lady said sorry again, that’s just how it came. No alternative dish or refund was offered. There were no other customers in Fu Lam when I initially ordered my meal, nor when I returned to speak to them about what I thought was a mistake with my food. I cannot recommend this restaurant and I will not be returning to it.
Didn't realise until too late frozen chips not real potatoe ones and they were not good ones, Fish was greasy and curry sauce tasted really bland and watered down. Never again
Bought a large portion of chips for £3.65. Consisted of a few scoops of deep fried oven chips. Total rip off. Portion was smaller than a portion of chips you'd get from any chip shop on the Wirral and they were not made from fresh potatoes.
Terrible frozen chips and tasteless fish. A waste of money.
Gave one star for friendliness of staff, but other than that, disgusting :( didn’t realise until placed order that oven chips would be served in place of real potato chips. Tried here rather than queuing for Marigolds and now wish we didn’t. Charged £10 for a fish dinner in a tray, oven chips and pollock. Hugely disappointed.
We only noticed after placing our order that they were doing oven chips instead of proper chippy chips. It was expensive for what it was.
DON'T. Beef was as tough as an old pair of boots. Disgusting.
Food was good, did try and make a complaint but the admin never got back to me (regarding to the flavour of the duck), but overall a solid dining experience
