Too many people overlook the importance of gearbox servicing and simply dropping the oil from the pan in an auto box will mean that you'll change probably less than 30% of the oil in the system so I'd been looking for a gearbox flush and exchange specialist. These are few and far between in the South East so when I found these guys, I read the reviews and called to discuss it. They offered me a discounted rate for this service when combined with an engine service and could book me in quickly. I took my wife's Discovery 4 there today for a major service and gearbox flush.
The car drove without fault when it went in and did exactly that on the way home. Gear shifts are slightly smoother but it's hard to tell any major difference as it drove so well beforehand anyway but that's not really the point, changing the oil regularly will increase the longevity of your investment, our 9 year old Discovery now has fresh oil in the gearbox and should be good for many more trouble free miles (at least from that part (fellow LR owners know what I mean :-) ))
The online Land Rover Service History is up to date also as the team at Freeway did that while I was there which in itself helps to protect my investment. Coffee was good too. The only thing I am now slightly disappointed by is that I missed their blue light discount offer on the website and only found it when I got home as I could have taken advantage of that with my Blood Bike ID but that's my fault not theirs and I was happy with the price anyway so all in all, an excellent result.
Went down for my Corvette and saw a guy called Olly. He was so helpful and such a nice fella to talk to, Explained everything to me and talked me through next steps and costs even though this was an unusual car.. This was absolutely fantastic service and 100% use all the time from now on.
Did a lot of research for a reliable independent local Land Rover specialist and after having a chat with Ollie it was clear that they knew Land Rover vehicles in great detail and were worth the short trip over to Isle of Sheppey.
Quoted me a very reasonable price for a major service and gearbox megaflush. On arrival I was warmly welcomed and saw no less than 4 other similar age-spec Range Rovers being worked on. This is always a good sign.
In addition to the work quoted I also advised them of a knocking in the suspension, probably from the lower offside balljoint - and they said they would try to fit this in.
As soon as I got home I got a call from Leroy advising that it was indeed a lower balljoint, giving a quote to fix immediately with off the shelf OEM parts. The gearbox flush was very definitely worthwhile. Gear changes are noticeably smoother and you can see from the photo that the old fluid was degraded and dirty.
Overall I was very impressed - the total bill was a fraction of what I would have paid at a main dealer and very thorough, with a well itemised invoice. Freeway have paid to sign up to LR's online servicing portal and uploaded the service record for future owners to see. (not even LR bother to do this!)
What they achieved in a few hours was impressive. Labour is £85 an hr but they quoted only one hour for the ball joint - which can be a pig of a job to somebody unfamiliar with the task.
I needed my air con recharged ready for the summer and was going to take it to a big chain to have it done. I arrived at the big chain who said it would be all day and I can pick it up at the end of the day. I ended up cancelling and taking my car to freeway. I can not praise them enough. I turned up and explained what had happened and they said no problem. The car was on the machine and re gassed in less than half an hour. I would definitely be recommending them. Brilliant service, explained alot over the phone to me about my engine problem. Took time out of his day to give me plenty of advice even though he wasn't making money from my car. Thanks Mike, really appreciated.

Friendly service but had to take car back many times as fault wasn't fixed. Ended up going to main dealer who advised that genuine parts had not been used. Freeways didn't confirm that they were using pattern parts, which they should have! I would not recommend this garage despite them being friendly as it cost me more in the long term. If they couldn't fix the issue they should have just said that. Disappointed
Took my car to this garage as my rear caliper was sticking they then said no it wasn't it was my disc and pads then they started telling me that my rear oil seal was leaking. I have had another garage diagnose the problem and the calliper was sticking and the oil seal wasn't leaking it is the oil cooler. Then they charged me £75 to tell me the wrong diagnostic so I am definatly avoiding this garage and would recommend to others to avoid!!!!
These 5 star reviews must be from friends and family because this is an awful garage! I spent over £3000 pounds to fix suspension and hydraulic problems which reoccurred a few months later. I ended up taking my car to a PROPER Range Rover specialist and they were shocked by the shoddy workmanship. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. AVOID!!!
