I have never experienced such a wonderful service staying at a hotel. We were five guys visiting Dufftown for the whisky. The manager helped us book taxi, find tours at distilleries, find nice places to dine and much more. After room cleaning, we found whisky glasses in our rooms, after the manager saw we were drinking whisky. Such small but nice details made the stay excellent! And the Scottish breakfast was really nice. I can highly recommend staying at the Fife Arms in Dufftown.
This is not a luxurious hotel by any means but rooms are clean and spacious, the owners are helpful, friendly and prepare a great breakfast, including vegetarian options. You can't beat the location: dead center of town, which was great for the Speyside Distillery Walking Tour that starts across the street at the clock tower.||The owners were extremely helpful, even sharing a map no longer in print. Rooms are in back of the reception/bar area and there's a free parking lot in back, too. ||Wi-fi is dicey but the owners let me in to the pub area to use my phone. Lovely folks and we'd stay there again.
Great central location, close to everything downtown. For 5£ each we had a great home cooked breakfast. Rooms are clean, off the street and with parking right outside. WiFi was good but we needed to be outside the room. They provided benches outside for that or nice outside seating.

On a weekend away with our 7 mo heading for Aviemore. Unfortunately due to the weather we were stuck in Dufftown. We parked outside the Fife Arms and went into ask for a room for the night for the three of us. Not only was the couple that run the hotel more than happy to give us a room but also offered a discount to us because we had had a rough time (we refused the discount). They were more than accommodating. They have ran after us since we arrived always checking to see if we needed anything for ourselves or our child. In the 16 hours we’ve been here they’ve shovelled the path not once, not twice but three times for us. Dig our car out the snow and even helped to push the car! The room was lovely and cosy and just perfect. Breakfast was delicious with every need catered for. Don’t let the outside look deceive you. The couple have a heart of gold and a lot to give.
