I'm really disappointed with the service I got for my immigration questions. I booked an hour-long appointment, but the person I met wasn't even a solicitor. She didn't seem sure about the answers to my questions, and honestly, I knew more than she did.
For example, I asked about the Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) process and the time limits for being outside the UK. She insisted there's a 90-day limit in the last year before applying for ILR. I had to correct her and explain that the limit for 90days, kicks in after you've applied for ILR, not before, like in the fifth year.
She took notes but also I had to correct her again on my application date she started saying that I have already spent 6 years and could apply, but i was the one to correct her on yes 6 years bt the first visa type did not have ILR route therefore i need to wait 5 years on a visa type with ILR route.
Considering what I paid for the appointment, I expected much better. I mean, at least someone with a law degree should know their stuff, right?
Overall, it was a waste of money, and I'm pretty disappointed. They really need to make sure their people know what they're talking about.
By the way , they took the payment as cash and stating they would only work cash but no credit cards, bank transfers. i was not given any invoice nor a registry. Probably to avoid paying tax they have this cash transaction policy as well ...
Update after the owner's response:
1) I was not given any option to pay with credit card or bank transfer and forced to make a cash payment. I personally did not choose.
2) Although the person took notes about my questions, I was presented with a very basic document providing not more than 4-5 lines with eligibility criteria which is already on the Gov Uk. website nothing personalized.
3) What I was informed verbally and what the document was showing different views: ie eligibility to apply for ILR the person told me that I should not have more then 90 days presence out of UK before applying and the document was stating it should be 180 days.
4) I brought up the subject access request and only asked for vlaidation of my ID with a lawyer , this was an extra payment on top just to sign one paper ..
I know I am right on my review however lawyers have always a good defense, rather than saying sorry and how can we make it up to you !!
Ridiculous
Never had a more horrible service provided to me in my whole life. Meral needs some serious customer service training and in fact she shouldn’t even be let out in public amongst other civilised people with the way she talks and acts. My problem was completely dismissed and I was given back talk when I was being respectful.
Erbiller Solicitors have represented me for my RTA claim. I’m so so happy with their service. They were not just an exceptional lawyer but we’re like a family. The level of service was exceptional. They took away all my stress and eventually resulted my case with a very good result. I cannot thank them enough for they’re exceptional services.
