Stopped for coffee and cake. Wasn't much left as it was late afternoon and it's a popular place. What we had though was decent and the coffee was quite nice.
Dog Friendly too, which is a bonus.
Great cafe with a great range of bagels when available, this time we went they only had 2 options so I went for a bagel and a panini, cheese and onion which I wouldn't recommend as it over load with the chutney. My partner had a ham with cheese which was really with the honey mustard.
Beautiful location, great atmosphere & service and most importantly, great food ... and coffee!
Very relaxed coffee shop with stunning views. Service quick and courteous. Reasonably priced. Bacon/sausage baps, vegan options and cake ????! available.
Great place, lovely atmosphere but do think the increased coffee price is too high. Paid £3.50 for flat white which I thought was more than enough at the original price of £3.30!! Will limit my visits in future as too costly for what you get - shame as lots of other cafes don't charge as much .
Great place and good service food was delicious and fresh. Dog friendly in courtyard. Unfortunately what let my visit down was being a dog owner I sat outside when 4 people came outside to smoke right by where people were dining. My dog behaves better and we should be allowed inside not subjected to second hand smoke and vapes
A great cafe and lovely atmosphere. There's a large partially covered outdoor seating area at the rear. Excellent coffees and cakes. 1 star taken off due to very slow service of the coffees. Cakes arrived within a couple of minutes, coffees about 15 minutes later.
It pains me to write this as I've previously really enjoyed this place. I've been going every month or so since it opened all those years ago and was once the proud author of a 5 star Google review for it. But things have changed and I can no longer stand by that review.
I guess I've just had more 'misses' than 'hits' lately with Elephant. Tables take an age to clear and you are often left with the previous diner's leftovers sat in front of you for a long time (often, even if you ask a member of staff to clear it). Several times I've just cleared it myself and left it on the counter when it became apparent we were being ignored.
The food is usually very good, but today we had a lemon drizzle cake that was exceptionally dry inside (i.e. no drizzle at all) and when my other half mentioned this to the staff, they couldn't have been less bothered. The guy just looked at him like he had three heads and didn't offer any sort of resolution. I kind of expect that in a big city chain coffee place, but not here. Also, £4.80 for a tiny smoothie (maybe 250-300ml) just seems quite stingy.
I guess the feeling I am left with, is that when you are spending close to £30 in a café setting, you expect the basics to be done well and treated nicely if there is an issue, but that just doesn't seem to be the case here any more. I'm not sure I'll be returning again.
