To describe these people as useless feels too good for them. After being released from hospital I ran out of medication for my pain. I called in the morning for an appointment only to find after many attempts to change my phone number they still had the wrong one so i never received a call back. After correcting this i was told I would have to wait until the next day even though this was no fault of my own. At this point I'm the stupid one for not having changed GP's thus far. They are a disappointing joke and that goes for all the staff. I cant think of a positive experience I have ever had here. If you can help it, apply elsewhere. Anywhere else. This place is an absolute joke just not an even remotely amusing one.
The worst surgery ever! Avoid at all costs!
The receptionist it’s very rude and sounds like she really hates her job!
I’ve been on hold for 1 hour at first thing in the morning and when they picked up they said no appointments available so I need to call 111, did that I was on the phone with 111 and they told me to go to the surgery and someone will see me.
When I got there the receptionist start shouting at me saying that I need a booking confirmation in order for someone to see me. Explained to her that 111 said it is a walking centre and I do not need a confirmation. Then she said she can book me in but there would be a long wait for the same day, I agreed with that and then she said she actually couldn’t book me in as I was a patient there already. So I asked, what is the point of me being a patient there if I cannot book any appointments to see my gp. She got irascible and was threatening me she will call security, being very rude and saying this is the management policy we do not take patients for appointments.
This lady clearly needs a career change, this job it’s not for her!
I’ve been registered at this surgery for over 10 years and I can see it progressively getting worse. What’s the point in having a GP surgery when the receptionists do not answer the phone? You have to do better as you have real lives in your hands. On one occasion I was on called the surgery and was on hold for over an hour. I decided to make my way to the surgery in person to see that the receptionist was chilled having a full blown conversation with her colleagues. She was not on a lunch break, she simply wasn’t answering the phone. We understand the strain of the NHS however this is beyond the lack of resources, it’s simply negligence.
Just sat in a queue for over an hour just to be cut off when I was 1 in the queue, call back and sent back to 11 in the queue. Had to call 111 and speak to 3 separate people 1 by 1 for the last 2 hours and the result is I now have to wait for this surgery to call me back and it won't be today. It could be any time and I have been trying to get passed these queues for months. They used to tell us to call at 8am but you stay in the same queue system and soon as it reaches 9am they cut you off.
The last time I actually got through I was spoken to very rudely as if I was in the wrong for calling!
I wouldn't recommend this surgery for anything at all. The doctors even dismiss any claims you have to adverse affects to medication even though the adverse affects are very real and listed in their side affects, but no, this surgery are the kingpins and they say no. So I have spent 18 months with borderline personality disorder, anxiety, depression, insomnia and migraines with no medication and no medical assistance. The best I have received is telephone calls once a week from Luton Wellbeing which was ended by them 8 months ago because of funding.
Not being horrible but I am glad I didn't clap last year
I went to a private GP because I couldn't get an appointment with my regular GP.
Private GP prescribed me medicine and asked my regular GP from Town Centre Surgery to give me a referral in Neurology department.
My GP refuses to do so, delays me every time even after I've explained them I'm in excruciating pain due to nerve damage. I'm being prescribed a new medicine every 2 weeks.I feel like I'm on a drug trial.
No in person appointment offered even if my issue is ongoing for some time now.
I have submitted no stars. Well I had to give it one to submit. I have had so many issues with this GP with the largest being it's extremely difficult to get an appointment and i left the GP and without my knowledge someone re registered me after me using a new practice and today all my appointments and bloodtests have been cancelled.
I called for my 6 yrs old and spoke with a female gp there. She was rude when I asked to repeat because her voice was not clear over phone possibly due to a loudspeaker? She got irritated and told me they don’t use loud speaker and it’s the fault of the internet I use. I said I was on the phone and not calling through internet. She was adamant to blame it on my internet. Then finally she told she would send me a link (?!) to open and buy a medicine. I was surprised and asked if she could send it online to my local pharmacy for me to collect. She was insisting on me to buy the drug. I clarified I’ve called for my 6 yrs old and children under 16 are eligible for free medicines. She was pressuring me to buy because the nhs pay £9 per prescription while I would spend a little over £2!
Outrageous service. I haven’t pledged loyalty to the nhs at the cost of my own budget and giving up the patient’s legal/gov right. Those who have probably should work for free…
How can a gp try to deprive a patient of their own legal right?! Under a guise of saving the nhs budget?! I reminded her I pay NI contributions that go towards supposedly free medical care in the UK then she surrendered. Disgusting!
Called at 0800 like the receptionist told me to do just to get an appointment and the line is busy. No appointments available. Reporting this gp as it has no routine appointments only have to call on the day and see if they answer you. I work for the NHS and this place is horrible.
