Best KPortal Reviews
My previous review was deleted so I'm here again to say how unhelpful, incompetent and unempathetic the receptionists are, talking to us so condescending when this surgery can't even do a simple thing like send out repeat presciptions on time. We have the right to be upset, anxious and angry yet they make you feel like a problem and a burden and are too busy flirting with the guy fixing the appointment machince to care about what you have to say. They don't listen and they don't care I'm sick of them not getting anything right and making us stress out. Awful and useless none of them should be medical receptionists.
I have had the same experience as many other, rude arrogant and spiteful. The doctors service, who I see a different doctor each time I can manage to get a visit has been un helpful provided no care or solution to my problem. I’m an academic and have spent many more years training in my field than they have as GPs still totally patronising rude, and I would even add cruel. I made an official complaint and nothing changed. I once went in agonising pain, they told me there’s nothing wrong, I went to the hospital under my own concern and discovered I had a broken bones on my back and fractured bones in my neck. How they continue to practice is beyond me. It should be closed down and re-staffed and restructured from the bottom to the top. I have been to may GPs surgeries in my life time, and never been treated so bad, that includes the two years I lived in India an 3rd world country. Appalling woeful non-service. All of the complaints can’t be wrong. Note all the five star reviews are clearly fake.
Was seen and attended to by an out of hours GP at Bournemouth Hospital who was amazing. They suggest for referral but would have to go through my inhours GP to do so.
As opposed to simply referring me to keep timelines efficient and an appointment vacant for someone else who could do with appointment they've decided to make me wait a month to go to an appointment that has already happened, to be told the exact same thing, and then wait god knows how long for the actual referral to take place.
The reasoning for this is because they don't see it as an emergency when I was originally referred to the emergency department for out of hours as 111 did not want me to wait 1 month to be seen with my symptoms as it affected my sleep and subsequently my work.
This makes less than 0 sense
No wonder the waiting times are so long when you're operating like this. After this experience, I'm seriously considering swithcing GPS.
I was with this surgery for around 15 years, from a young age up and into adulthood. I had Dr Thurston as my GP as a child, and later I had Dr Timothy Mitchell. Thurston was great, though I should have known what this surgery's unofficial policies were like when she once told me "You can't really be depressed, because depressed people can't express their feelings like you". Well, it turns out I was, and continued to be, for many years. The support in that moment would have meant a world of difference.
However my decision to leave this surgery and go elsewhere after so many years is due to what I felt was repeated dismissiveness from the otherwise very talented Dr Mitchell. I complained that I was having immense trouble sleeping due to MEM-form tinnitus, not your typical ringing in the ear (Mitchell once responded with "I have ringing in the ears too", MEM tinnitus is not even close to that), and I asked Mitchell whether he could prescribe me a sleep aid or some sort of relaxant to stop the muscle in my ear twitching incessantly. He said no, repeatedly, that they simply don't prescribe those things to people my age (mid 20s!). I could have lived with that had he tried to offer me any other alternative, knowing I was in a state of desperation, but he simply shrugged and implied I would have to put up with it until my next ENT specialist appointment in one year's time! For curiosity's sake, I had one last appointment with Dr Davis, who was extremely direct and to the point and with no questions asked prescribed me a very strong antidepressant sedative. Odd that one doctor would insist time and again that I was too young for any sort of sleep aid or muscle relaxant but another at the same surgery would prescribe me a very potent antidepressant without batting an eye. I liked Dr Davis' approach but a good middle of the road would be ideal.
Ultimately, although this surgery has taken good care of my parents, I simply felt dismissed and treated like my issues were not issues - in fact told to just deal with them - despite telling doctors like Mitchell that I was desperate and lacking sleep for months. Let me pose you this question: I have intense MEM tinnitus which wakes me up, keeps me awake, and I cannot sleep or listen to music or watch TV, what happens to me in those 12 months that I was told to just put up with it? Certainly, nothing good. Glad I've finally left this surgery for a place that will actually listen to me.
i’ve been coming to this surgery for over 30 years, and seen some changes. Dr Walter’s was my Dr then, and back then the receptionist had empathy, they were, polite & very helpful. After I spent 30 minutes on the phone waiting to speak to an “agent”, the font of all knowledge ( reception ), had what I could only described as pleasure in her voice, to tell me that for a telephone appointment with my Dr would take over 17 days, I was shocked at this and I asked her very politely if I heard her correctly and she repeated the same date, WoW just as well I don’t have anything wrong with my self, or do I guess I’ll have to wait 17 days and then wait for the results to find out.
Lovely surgery. Very friendly, knowledgeable and lovely staff from the doctors to the nurses, through to the receptionists and support staff. I've recommended this surgery to friends too because of the care and compassion here.
Have been with this surgery for over twenty years and am happy with treatment. The new e _consult service is brilliant. Fast efficient and prescription ready for me without having to see a doctor. Receptionist's always pleasant and happy to help and nice helpful doctors. Don't understand the bad reviews. They do their best in difficult NHS times.
There is posters saying staff will not tolerate any abuse. What about the patient’s. The receptionists at this surgery are so rude . You try and be nice and polite, but they talk down to you as if your nothing . I have a degree my dears. You don’t need to sit there like you are doctors . YOU ARE RECEPTIONISTS . Have respect for others then you will gain respect back. I even hear them Slagging off the patients whilst I’m stood there . It is disgusting behaviour. I’ve even seen the doctors allowing this behaviour. A receptionist the older one having a go at an elderly patient. Then she tells the doctor that the patient was being rude so was sent away . He was only 5 minutes late he showed me his
appointment card. She said he was over 15 minutes . Teach your receptionists how to deal with the public before you judge the public . It should say public should not tolerate abuse from the receptionists
Apart from the receptionists……..
DOCTORS
The doctors are amazing . I have never had a problem with their service .
Especially doctor Mitchell he is a credit to his job . He deserves a medal . I wouldn’t go anywhere else . They just need to sort out their rude receptionists. As you can tell I am fuming with the way they treat people hence my post.
