Disappointed with their service, I had difficulty park my car with no space, then got to reception had to wait 5 minutes to get to the front desk and then I was late for my appointment as they usually are 10-15 minutes behind themselves but this time they told me to wait to be seen after few patients gone through even though the nurse was free. I had to cancel my appointment as had to go to work. They also changed my appointment 30 minutes before my actual appointment. Not a good experience
Very happy with my service here, was in desperate need of a dr, my surgery in Blackburn searched every where for some where for me, I waited a few hours but they got back to me at 4:54pm for an appointment at 7pm in Darwen health centre late surgery, I was so grateful otherwise it would of meant going back to A&E and I really didn’t want to do that, I was up there for 5 hrs with cellulitis with my 3 yr old & partner 2 days ago, just for a lung infection didn’t seem worthwhile. When in just needed medication ???? top marks
good doctors overall, wait times can be very long. but there prescription section is closed every weekend. i find it extremely difficult to get my medication around my work. also staff at prescriptions can be very rude on the desk
I sent a urine sample in for my 91 year old mother on the Wednesday morning27.03.2024, a lovely nurse rang me within an hour to say that traces had been picked up in the sample but she was concerned that mum had recently had antibiotics for a previous UTI, I explained that the day after she started to take them she got an infection in her foot and the district nurse had changed the antibiotics to amoxicillin which won’t completely clear the UTI. She said that she would pass this information onto the doctor and try to get the original antibiotics sent back to the care home for mum, but to ring back to reception later in the day to check. I did this and spoke to a lovely young man who said nothing had yet been done by the doctor but he would chase it up for me as mum was quite poorly. I have phoned back again today, 28.03.2024 and I was caller number two. It took 35 minutes to be answered, the young lady hadn’t got the best attitude on the the telephone and said that the sample had been sent to the labs and it wasn’t their fault it would be a bank holiday weekend (Easter) when it would be returned. This would mean my 91 year old mum wouldn’t get any medication relief for a further 5 days !!!!!!!!! When I pointed this out I was told to hold the line quite abruptly, on returning I was told that I would have to check with the chemist later to see if any prescription had been made for mum, and if it hadn’t she couldn’t do anything about it. I did mention that on ringing the doctors that the message says that all phone call are recorded and to be nice to the person answering, but surely that goes both ways ??? I think some people should try and be more compassionate to the patient.
UPDATE. later the same evening a lovely young lady telephoned me from the Health centre, saying that a prescription was at the pharmacy for me to collect for mum, so she is now on the correct antibiotics and hopefully feeling much better soon xxxxx
Absolutely terrible staff doctors don’t know what they doing and are lazy doing half a job which you get no where with left me in pain with out help and frankly didn’t care
The staff on the desk think they can talk down to people and expect respect for it
Waist of time even going to see a doctor you may as well go straight to hospital and there is your problem with busy hospitals when a doctor can’t do his job properly what an absolute joke that place is if you have health issues you going to be neglected and in a risk of getting even worse.
Fantastic service from DHC, thanks so much to Dr Ninan and his team. We feel very lucky to have access to such a professional, well organised and welcoming team.
