I can not recommend Cwmbran Tyres highly enough! Absolutely amazing customer support and service, super friendly and helpful guys - they’re just superb.
I write this review after my experience with Cwmbran Tyres this past weekend, and I can confidently say they’ve gained a life long customer out of me and I will recommend them to anyone that will listen.
This past weekend I took my car to them with what had been diagnosed previously by a different garage as a burst seal. My car uses run flat tyres so I was told after a brief inspection that the pressure the tyre puts on the alloy itself had likely caused a leak around the seal. However the mechanic hadn’t taken the wheel off, so I was sceptical but I was told to keep an eye on it and that was it.
After this the loss in pressure went from once every few weeks to daily, so I brought it to Neil and his team at Cwmbran Tyres. They saw me immediately and attempted to get the wheel in question off to inspect but unfortunately the anti locking wheel nut had been tightened to such a degree that the adapter just sheered clean off when they tried to loosen anything. However, that didn’t stop them, they did everything they could think of to try and get the nut off, they had draws of spares out on the floor trying to find a match, they had an all purpose adapter out trying to loosen it and when everything they tried had failed they advised where to go to replace the adapter and filled my tyre up with air so I was safe to drive.
New adapter acquired I returned later that afternoon and again, the team were straight to work getting with the wheel off - it took some force because it had been left so tight previously, but they got it off. They tested the wheel and alloy thoroughly to find the source of the pressure loss and they did in minutes but unfortunately due to the pressure the tyre puts on the alloy the alloy had as suspected cracked. It’s a common issue with run flats and not the first time it’s happened to me, but the crack had worsened as I had kept driving on it and now it was leaking a significant amount of air and this is where Cwmbran Tyres really saved the day.
They recommended someone they knew to safely wield the alloy for me, they offered to remove the damaged alloy and have the wielding sorted for me and whilst I was waiting for it to be mended they took the tyre off my existing damaged alloy and fitted it to a spare one they had around to keep my car on the road while the work was done. This was all done on Saturday 13th April, by today Monday 15th April the alloy had been mended and a new tyre had been fitted plus I’ve had a new tyre fitted to the passenger side.
As I said, terrific service and just really lovely guys and I couldn’t be more appreciative of them and their efforts, nor could I recommend them higher.
A young lad changed my tyre. After taking the tyre off, he put the rim on the machine ready for the new tyre. The rim jumped off the machine because it was not put on properly. It hit the floor and rolled away. Luckily, the paint was already chipped. If it hadn't, I wouldn't of been happy. The manager, I am assuming, seen what happened. He just shook his head and walked away. No one said a thing or even said sorry. Definitely will not be returning. 05/03/24, I was the first customer that morning. Amazing, fast and friendly service, rang around and no one would fit me in got told about Cwmbran tyres by a family member and I would definitely recommend. Will definitely be using these guys from now on
