Best KPortal Reviews
We popped in after driving past thinking the pub looked nice. The manager Callum was lovely and chatty. We sat outside with the lovely view and were told that the pub had recently been taken over after not being on the best state. We thought it looked lovely and fresh would definitely come again.
A nice pub located in Old Woking. The exterior looks vibrant as the place stands out as clearly visible in the photos, absolutely loved this fact and it honestly caught my eye from far away whilst walking towards the pub.
There's seating options available - inside as well as outdoors facing a small stream.
The ambience is 10/10. There is a good variety available in terms of children's menu and a small play area for them. Definitely has a very homely and positive vibe
A must visit if your around the place.
The crown and Anchor is a really nice place to be on the inside. I've gone by this place so many times and never given it a look simply because it looks like a person that has their back to you. Not very inviting. I was never really sure if it was even open. Its a very nice quiet place to sit and have lunch in the week. The staff are friendly and helpful. Wraps were tasty. Maybe too much mayo. Not much more to say about this one until I return and do more than a quiet lunch!
Decided to check out the roasts here as I drive past it so much but have never been in (well, not since the 90s!). Seriously - banging roast, cooked to perfection and amazing service. We will definitely be coming back here regularly now.
What a hidden gem!
I brought my mum and her little dog to stay for a night.
Dog friendly hotel at the highest level!
The room was immaculate, mini bar stocked, views amazing. The grounds are so beautiful.
The team were so welcoming and friendly I honestly felt like I'd been coming here for years.
I stay away often and this place has to be one of the best pub/hotels I've ever had the pleasure of staying at.
The food was fantastic. The live band was amazing. But more than anything, the locals and other customers were just so friendly. This pub has such great energy.
Cant wait to return.
Thank you wendy and team for being so accommodating!
This review regards the food only as we just came to eat. This place has a lot of great reviews especially for their Sunday roasts and is in a nice location which made our visit even more disappointing. Upon sitting down we were immediately asked what we’d like to drink without being given any drinks menu (and never did). We then received very shortened menus of the one shown on their website, containing a fraction of the mains shown online including burger, scampi and chips, lasagna, noodles and one type of frankfurter. All the roasts and sides were available, however we were then told that their fryer wasn’t working so there were no starters and all items with chips would be with roast or mashed potatoes. Upon ordering the vegan roast we were told it would take 45 minutes to cook, which we didn’t mind but felt like they were trying to put us off ordering it. We were a group of 6 and my friends who had the veggie and vegan roasts commented about how bland the food was, with the roast potatoes tasting like packaged frozen supermarket ones. There was a family of 6 sitting across from us and we noticed that they had been given two Yorkshire puddings on their roasts whilst we had one, and cauliflower cheese which had been listed on the menu, I appreciate that the vegan roast wouldn’t contain that but they could’ve put it on the veggie one. I had the noodles and my partner the burger, and as you can see from the photo these portions were tiny, the burger tasted like a cheap burger van burger and the potatoes were anaemic. We also had to ask for sauce and salad items for the burgers that were listed on the menu. I wish I had taken more photos of the poor food and menu to show how bad it was. Service was poor with no one coming up to us asking how our food was and we declined desserts. They also dropped ketchup on the floor on my partners trousers and shoes and didn’t apologise, instead swore loudly and just making a comment that ‘it’s only a little bit of ketchup you’ll survive’. It’s only an accident but at least apologise. Overall I don’t understand how this experience was so bad when pretty much all the reviews I’ve read have been positive, it felt like they had a very bad day with potentially no chefs at the back and they were just panic cooking everything themselves. I’d never come back here and recommend everyone to avoid.
A lovely pub with games to play, incredibly friendly staff and right by a stream, sheltered smoking area, rich interior , the pub is very very clean, impressive toilet, provides a very fun and relaxing experience.
My overnight stay was an absolute pleasure. After a long drive I was made to feel most welcome by staff whose Customer Service is first class. My room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was probably the best I have had away from home.
A big thank you to Wendy and her great team.
I will certainly be visiting again.
