Go here for a drink in a beautiful setting but don't expect any food. We were advised that no food had been prepared or served inside the place for 200 years. You can get snacks in bags and you might find a barbecue outside on a summer evening but best to enjoy the Cresselly Arms for its position on the river (tidal), unchanged interior and repartee among the locals. A true gem of a "real" pub.
Right on the water and the perfect place to sit and watch the sun go down with a beer / cider / wine in hand. Gets busy but service is swift and food is cooked/served outside (don't think it's every night but a good selection of crisps and nuts as a back-up!!). Live music some night - great atmosphere and highly recommended.
Why can't all pubs be like this? It suddenly appears in the most stunning location. Plenty of outdoor seating, the owner was very quick to come over and take our order. We had the house ale and he told us the story behind how it was brewed. Could have stayed staring at the estuary and wildlife all day.
Love this welsh country pub in the heart of #PEMBROKESHIRE, close to #Carew Castle. It has maintains its charm since the first time I visited this pub many years ago. Locals and visitors enjoy the spectacular view of the river on a hot summers evening, especially when it's high tide at the Quey. Cider and beer were great and the service was fantastic. A memorable visit to one of my favourite pubs in Wales.
This pub is a gem! Steve and team always friendly and welcoming, no food unless bbq , but that is the way I like it, its a Proper Pub and I'm proud to say, my local!x
I was brought to this beautiful place as a child,I've since grown up and brought my children here.
It's such a fantastic, friendly place and a real step back in time.
If you're in the area, just go to see this very special hidden gem of history.
A lovely traditional pub, full of character, which probably hasn’t changed much in a hundred years. The outside seating area on the banks of the estuary offer stunning views - the perfect spot for a pint on a sunny afternoon.
Just a shame about the two cantankerous old men that run the pub. They really do spoil the experience - not that they probably care!
Visited a few years ago in the summer and had a drink over looking the quay. Visited again a few days ago and it was cold and dark (as you’d expect for the time of year) The building looks tired, bar full of locals (they keep it going through the winter) but a huge sign saying NO CHILDREN NO DOGS. Such a shame because it use to be such a lovely welcoming olde world pub. Stayed for a couple drink, sat outside, and left. Such a shame!
