Flossies shop is all you need when visiting the campsite, or even just as a stop on your way through the area. Not only does it stock essentials for cooking simple camp meals, you can also get decent coffee and breakfast sandwiches like a bacon or egg roll.
The owner is lovely and was happy to chat with us whilst we are our food. She recommended a couple of places that we should visit on our journey around the north coast of Scotland.
Clachtoll Shop, AKA Flossies Beach Store - what a fantastic little gem in the middle of nowhere. An absolute must stop for anyone on the North Coast 500.
This little shop seemed to stock all of the essentials you could need - ideal for anyone camping or caravanning especially at the nearby site. This little store is absolutely tiny but has so much to offer. We arrived before opening and waited and boy was it worth the wait. We ordered several hot sandwiches and they were some of the best we'd eaten. The sausage was tasty and fresh, as were the buns. The black pudding was absolutely divine. Both of the members of staff we dealt with were very friendly, as were the various guests that were coming and going as we were eating our sandwiches outside.
If you're reading this whilst planning your NC500 trip, save your stomach space for Flossies and have one of the best sandwiches you've ever had.
November 2016 Staying in Stoer for a week and was driving past, noticed it open and hastily stopped to go look as it's within walking distance for us ( turns out it's open all year round from 8.30 am til 5.30 pm perfect for a freshly cooked bacon butty, bread, milk, alcohol and a whole selection of essentials ) we bought some very yummy cakes and hot drinks to go. There's a friendly sheep dog lives there ( although our grumpy old dog wasn't too keen on his attention ). What a gold mine for such a tiny little place and the owner was lovely, chatty and friendly. We will definitely be popping in again before we go home. Now called 'Flossie's Beach Store'.
Flossie's Beach Store - an amazing place! Spent 2 nights nearby in a motorhome. If you want it Flossie's got it! Maybe not the brand you usually buy but when you've run out of fags on a Sunday morning in the north of Scotland you can't afford to be picky! Venison pastrami anyone?
The hot food is amazing. A small shop that seems to have everything you need and the owner is a lovely woman and so full of knowledge about the Highlands. I give Flossies 5 stars ????????
This is an amazing small shop that sells almost everything, amazing fresh breads and lots more, Bacon rolls. Open from 08:30 but but when they have a bakery delivery it does not arrive till 11 o'clock the first day we went. But still amazing shop.
A welcome roadside stop for a snack lunch on our visit to clachtoll beach and the broch. Friendly service, covid compliant and some fresh fruit and veg for sale.
The best bacon rolls ever along with a happy smiley person serving us. Many thanks Flossies :-)
