After realising our MOT had expired on new years eve, these guys fitted me in at short notice and stayed late so we could get the car road legal again for the new year! Lovely chaps who dug me out of a hole.
BEWARE!! Took the car in for a mot. It failed. The quote for repairs was ok, then when I gave the go ahead was told the cost quoted was PLUS 20% VAT! It needed a tyre so I agreed to this, it cost £65.00 PLUS VAT which I was unaware of until after it had been done.
I would not recommend this garage as a quote of £200 doubled!
Took van in for a service last minute. Completed within 3 hours. Repair work also carried out well and good customer service. Recommendations are clear and concise.
Excellent service from them, I took my car in at 10 and it was all done in a few hours, a lovely man called Ali rushed around to get the parts for me so that it was done in time for Monday and the mechanic took the time to explain the reason for the work and showed me the physical parts and what they did. Very genuine and honest place to go, Ali offered me a discount for a slight misunderstanding on my part but I did not want the discount because Ali was clearly trying to provide the best service he could in a small amount of time. Many thanks! I will suggest you to my friends! : )
Called on Tuesday 15th June to enquire about a used car they had for sale with a view to booking an appointment to test drive it. Was informed someone would call me back. Still waiting 48 hours later. Perhaps they are not in the business of selling used cars after all!
The mechanic Ali misdiagnosed a broken rocker arm cover gasket as a cracked rocker arm cover. After buying the part, he kept my car for 10 days only to tell me that he couldn't open the bolts. He told me to either buy the tool for him to use (£300) and new bolts (£150) or scrap the car, a 2011 model with less than 120k miles. He also wanted upwards of £400 labour fees. The car was so dirty and scratched when I collected it. I paid £250 at the next garage covering both the gasket and labour. Everyone stay away from these people.
Very bad experience, just like other reviewers here - failed MOT due to work that I later found out was not necessary. VOSA make it very difficult to complain about dodgy test centres like this so they are still happily trading , making up failures as they go along and clearing out customers wallets for no good reason. I will point out that I later found out this guy is affiliated with the neighbouring Roundway Garage so I will avoid them too as should YOU.
Visited Ali and his team this week. Ideally located in the centre of town, Ali is great and helped me out when I needed it at short notice, even though it was a minor job in the end on a busy day for them. Great service
