We have been ordering our children's birthday cakes from here for years as well as last minute occasion cakes. The service is excellent, they always deliver what we want and they are always really accommodating. Their cakes never fail to put a smile on our children's faces!
The cake was delicious, and almost exact to the picture I shared. It was a tall cake which served more than 20 people quite decently. Yogi provided a great service! Highly recommend this branch :)
Price is too much now£17 for a medium cake that used to be £12.50 and the inside pineapples in the cake is all frozen. Told the 2 ladies in the shop but they insisted it was from the fridge and it wouldn’t be frozen. Not buying from here again!!!!
The cakes at this store are delicious and it was the first time we visited to place a very large cake order. Pavan at Cakes & Bakes Barkingside was absolutely fantastic this evening. He went above and beyond to explain the different options available to us to assist with our order. We will definitely continue to visit again, and highly recommend this bakery.
Bought a pistachio slice & a coconut slice today... cakes are old, probably been standing there for a couple of days, cream on top was hard, coconut sponge was hard, pistachio was OK, because it had syrup so even though might be standing there for a long time, syrup helped it be soft, but the cream was hard & felt like old...you know when cream gets old...was not butter cream, nor fresh cream. It was around 4.30pm, there was still lots of cakes on the shelf, so definitely will remain for next day, getting even more stale.
Birthday cake ruined because they didn't take peanut allergy precautions
We ordered a large chocolate cake for my daughter's 4th birthday. It was for her to share with her friends at nursery. Being mindful of the food allergies of the other children at the nursery, my wife specified that the cake should have no nuts.
I picked up the cake and it was loaded into my car. I dropped the cake off at the nursery and went back home. About an hour later, I received a call from the nursery telling me that I had to come and remove the cake as it contained nuts and they weren't allowed to have it on the premises.
I collected the cake and found that Ferrero Rocher chocolates had been added to the top of the cake. Although they were still in their wrappers, the fact that they were on the cake at all meant that the cake couldn't be given to the kids.
Very disappointed that a baker who has to be incredibly careful when it comes to allergies, should add sweets that contain nuts to the top of the cake.
I spoke to them and whilst they were apologetic, they also implied it was my wife's fault for not specifying not to put Ferrero Rochers on top. I would have thought that specifying 'no nuts' would have precluded Ferrero Rochers from being used at all. Such a shame as the cake looked really nice, but ultimately it was ruined because someone was thoughtless and cavalier about allergy precautions.
Really happy with the mango cake we purchased, we’ll definitely be back!
Fake AI pictures not real
Tried to order a cake company showed me an AI picture of a cake and said that this is what they made when I asked them if that's the real thing they showed me a comparison of the real thing it looked nothing like it and I talked to someone named Kevin was quite rude and had really poor customer service skills.
Answer to the reply - I have screenshots of the messages and I will gladly show you about my enquiry me working for cakes and bakes in the past was a statement to show how the standards in the shop in the past years has dropped in the company no threat was made the only thing that I asked was for a cake that they showed an AI pic that they claimed was made last year only for them to send me a picture of a cake that looked nothing like the original picture which I replied with disappointment but there was no threats made the cakes and bakes brand is a complete disappointment
