Best KPortal Reviews
I went in wanting to buy a selection of pastries for my sister in law to celebrate her passing her driving test. However, quickly changed my mind after speaking to the man serving me. I really felt like he didn’t want me to buy anything - that’s the best way to describe the interaction.
I got a salted caramel lobster tail - both pastry and filling were stale. The filling was in fact hard. Didn’t taste like any other lobster tail pastry I’ve had before. I also got a couple of pistachio cannoli - they were better. The pastry had the crunch the other one lacked. It was nice. They look better than they taste, which is a shame.
A beautifully quaint cafe with character, delicious coffee and pastries. A step back in time and a must stop from the hustle and bustle of the streets.
One of the best coffee ever, my partner vouched, and I absolutely loved the Cannoli. Sicilian Lemon Cannoli was a treat and my partner tried the Pistachio Cannoli, which he loved. It is a delightful and quirky little cafe in the old town streets of Canterbury. If you love nostalgia and Italian style, Cafe, this is the place to be.
What an unwelcoming owner. We had literally hardly got in the door when we were asked what we wanted. There was a huge array of cannoli in the window so I asked what flavours they were...his exact words were (sarcastically) "there are 13 different flavours do you want me to name them all?!" Well yes I did actually so that I knew what my options were, but he didn't tell us what any of them were so we just chose one that looked like chocolate.
He was very friendly to locals but not tourists, an example of his bias is that there is an "out of order" sign on the toilet door but I sat and watched a regular customer put her hand on top of the mirror and take down a key which she used to open the toilet door, use the toilet, then replace the key!! It's obviously not for tourists!
In conclusion it looked lovely on the outside but was ugly in every way on the inside.
A very nice cafe! It’s tiny but with nice decor and atmosphere. All sorts of Italian cakes and pastries with coffee made with careful attention and love.
Delicious little cafe, with stunning canolis. We had a pistachio andna chocolate and both were stunning.
The double espresso was ok, little bit sour but didn't detract from the experience
Had a nice, rich hot chocolate here. If you add cream it'll be chocolate which compliments the flavour. There's a sign saying its self-service which is a little odd considering how small the place is.
One of the best coffees here in Canterbury. The focus here is on the coffee bean. With small sweet pastries the pleasure is supported. The small coffee bar is comfortably furnished and invites you to linger. Those in a hurry can take the coffee with them.
