Went to a&e with a burnt hand. I was seen by the excellent triage nurse within 5 minutes of speaking to the receptionist.
He clearly explained what would happen next and sent me down to minor injuries unit. After 15 minutes there, a nurse practitioner treated me, clearly explained how to care for the burns and bandages and what I would need in terms of follow up appointments.
She was brilliant and sent me on my way with pare dressings within 45 mins of arriving.
Went to A and E yesterday after experiencing shoulder pain after tripping over last week. Waited for a few minutes to be seen by triage and sent to minor injuries. Not too busy and saw a Doctor within 10 minutes who sent me to X-ray. Another short wait had the X-ray and back to minor injuries department. Again I saw a doctor within 20 minutes he talked me through my X-ray results nothing broken so he sent a prescription for strong painkillers through to my local pharmacy. It was a really professional experience and all the staff I saw were helpful and caring. Very impressed and well done.
I came to a/e with pain right hand side. I have experienced wonderful staff all round from a/e to the ward all been marvellous. Was admitted and ward been amazing. They are so organised the service has been phenomenal. Can't thank docs and staff enough for getting my pain under control and sorting problems. I have follow up appointments and surgery to come and think I will be in wonderful hands. Many thanks Broomfield.
Visited Brookfield A&E17/7/23 due to an accident my foot stabbing! … I was there for over 3 hours! I saw an Asian woman who didn’t even look at my injury and wanted to send me for an X-ray? I asked why an x-ray was necessary for a knife would in my foot! She rudely replied well if you don’t want it don’t have it! Go back outside someone will look at your wound and treat it!… I then had to sit and wait 2 hours and 40 mins in the waiting area! I was then called in by an male doctor who took one look and said “ that can be glued”! I replied should it not be stitched due to where it was? He said no it can be glued!.. I had to ask for a tetanus! As the doctor seem unbothered that I haven’t had one or the fact the knife that fell on to my foot stabbing me was a decorators blade that had been used during DIY.. I was then told to wait back in the waiting area! 20 mins that the very same Asian nurse called me back into the room and told me she would give me the tetanus and glue my stab wound!…I said oh I didn’t think you could do it! She made a sarcastic comment about being told to do it!.. and was rubbish! She didn’t clean the wound properly! And used the tiniest amount of glue to seal it shut! I’ll be amazed if it stays closed!!.. I asked if I could take the opened glue home incase it re-opened she said no!.. I was not offered any pain relief to take home and quite frankly left feeling like I could have been saved 3HOURS. If she had done it herself in the first place!.. my experience of the hospital RUDE UNHELPFUL STAFF that make you feel like you shouldn’t be there bothering them!…. UNNECESSARY TIME WASTING … YHESE PEOPLE STRIKE ASKING FOR MORE MONEY but I honestly witnessed lots of staff sitting around talking, treating people like a burden, with ZERO CARE for peoples problems, health or injuries!… DONT GO TO BROOMFIELDS HOSPITAL
was seen by triage which avoided the check in with reception, and sent straight to minor injuries and seen almost instantly by the most informative, respectful and caring doctor I have EVER met. Confirmed my suspicions about my illness and insisted on getting me admitted (which she stated can be very difficult), and they ran further tests incredibly quickly. Blood tests taken by the nicest and a really funny nurse. And second doctor I saw gave me loads of advice and put me on waiting lists to confirm a diagnosis to begin medical treatment. Went back a few days later to drop off a sample and the nurses around the receptionist station were also incredibly lovely. Parking near the the a&E entrance can get filled pretty easily, which is the reason for four stars. But overall a great standard of care across all staff.
Honestly the service received was amazing. I arrived at 7.45am, was seen within 2 mins by triage sent round to minor injuries, had consultation, emergency X ray, further consultation, temporary cast put on and left at 9.15. Everyone was so kind and helpful thank you for making it such a positive experience
I came to the A&E with my daughter because she has had a fever for 6 days, they gave her nurofen and told us to wait 6 hours to see a doctor, because the doctor was in the children's section and in the rest of the hospital. They said she could leave and go to the GP. It is unacceptable to send a 5-year-old child home with a fever of 38.9 because the doctor would only come back in 6 hours or more.
She is a child!!! ????????
Great service. Emergency department work so hard. Staff is for friendly and helpful. I appreciate your help so much!!!!
