Fantastic Car park. It was very quiet at 06:30 in a January midweek visit this time but can get very busy.
I also visited in September when the car park was staffed by incredibly helpful people. They helped guide parking to optimise space, gave advice on parking app, offered a bin for rubbish and were generally just pleasant to talk to.
Well worth the money.
I also got up in time for the sunrise.????
There are two things that are nice to have for a day's hiking, one being handy parking and the other being toilets. For a hike up Schiehallion Braes of Foss fits that brief. It has a reasonable number of spaces with more in an overflow car park just up the road. It's £3 to park all day, cash is easiest. Toilets are fairly clean. The car park is well signposted from the main road.
It is a gravel surface car park with parking bays for 3 cars each all in a line heading back from the road towards the path up the hill. There is a toilet which is cleaned regularly and was in good condition when I used it. It is surrounded by trees so if you park carefully you can have a cool car when you get back. It is now £3 for the day. Cash although you can use RingGo if you can get a signal , I couldn’t. There is a short nature walk and Sciehallion a popular mountain walk from here.
Reasonably priced a £2 per day considering it also has usable toilets. Ticket can also be used at Queen's View Visitor Centre and Dalerb before the expiry time.
Use this car park for a starting off point to walk up Schiehallion
Cheap £3 for whole day, regularly cleaned toilets on site. Enough space for 15-20 cars. Free maps to pick up on site too. Highly recommended!
Used Braes of Foss car park as a base to hike to the top of Schiehallion. The original car park has a capacity for around 10 cars, but there is also an overflow car park on the opposite side of the approach road. The parking charge was very reasonable - £3 to park for the entire day on a Sunday, and there were excellent toilet and wash-hand facilities.
Good for a direct route to schiehallion Munroe. There's a toilet and it is pay and display. Take cash or a photo of the online paycode- there is no signal in the carpark. Just remember to pay when you get a signal when you are half way up the mountain
Well placed parking facility for climbing of Schiehallion. There are toilets and there is a charge to park. It gets full quickly, but there is an overflow car park down the road. This is less convenient and will add to your walk quite a bit, so get there early if you can.
You can pay with cash or using the RingGo app. I found that mobile reception (EE) was a bit patchy around the car park and we couldn't pay where we had left the car, but managed to get a signal in the area near the machine - so persevere if it doesn't work first time!
