Lovely little place. We happened upon it and glad we did. The hot chocolate and latte were delicious. Husband had the soup of the day and he thoroughly enjoyed it. I had a toastie. Dog friendly too and they even let us have some water in a dog bowl as we had left ours in the car. And he enjoyed his sausages very much. So thank you. ☺️
Stopped for morning coffee and a scone.
The owner served us and was pleasantly chatty. The scone was HUGE and lovely and fresh.
Bon Appetit, is situated just near to the ramparts so lovely to grab a brew before or after a walk around the walls.
Myself, missus and Labrador Millie visited Bon Appetit today, we were very impressed with how they are managing with the challenges they are probably facing with COVID. We received a warm welcome and the staff were very friendly. We both ordered haggis and cheese paninis and chips which came very quickly and were excellent! We then opted for a slice of chocolate cake each which was equally as good. We will definitely be returning before we head home!
Popped into this little cafe on a freezing cold day and had a great full English breakfast and a pot of tea it was delicious and nicely cooked it warmed me up a treat. The staff were very nice and friendly and I was ready for a walk when we left
Some people should not be in hospitality, which is never more true than at this place. On a rainy morning we walked in and were the only patrons. We were twice told to sit at different tables to the one we wanted (by a window) and after a huff of disappointment were allowed to sit there. They had no cream to go with their scones (who does jam with no cream???), the coffee was average, and the whole time we were there the lady stood behind the counter staring at us like we were going to steal the cutlery! You'd think they'd welcome people on a quiet, wet morning but not a smile or any enthusiasm whatsoever. Fair to say we won't be back!
I went into the cafe on a Tuesday morning at about 11 am and the cafe was empty. The staff member wasn't very welcoming or friendly, the food was average the toast was more like light crisped bread and the millionaire shirtbread was stale. When I went to pay and handed back the stale cake to the waitress and she just looked right through me like I was talking french, she went off into the kitchen, came back 2 minutes later told me the bill total, (I think without the cake included) never said another word I paid and left. Not the best breakfast/lunch experience won't be back and wouldn't recommend!
Excellent cafe. Friendly staff, tasty food, excellent Covid security - following Scottish rules - masks on unless you're seated. Really makes you feel secure.
One of three cafes in a very small area, alongside Corner House & No. 9 cafe, selected this cafe as the original choice was too busy. Fairly busy when we entered but got quieter whilst inside. Not a massive choice available but food was ok and waiting time was fine. Only negative points was that there was no table menus & overly priced for what you get. Not sure if they only take cash as I was unable to pay by card when I was there.
