We found The Boar's Head at the end of a very long walk (we actually got lost) and found it to be very welcoming & warm, straightforward service and canny locals. We must give a huge shout out to the gent also who offered us a lift back to our starting point after hearing us in the bar area, top geezer and very much appreciated. Cracking little place.
Didn't stay in hotel as a guest but rented a holiday cottage within the village. ||||After travelling a few hundred miles we decided to eat here as we could not be bothered to cook. ||||The place is very friendly and welcoming. The menu has a good variety and the value is excellent. ||||As a family of four we all opted for a different meal and 2 courses for £9 served us all well. ||||The food was first class and all plates were cleared. ||||We also enjoyed a lovely view of the stinchar valley as we ate. ||||It's a shame the meals are only available Friday, Saturday and Sunday as we would have definitely gone there more
My husband and I had a quick visit to the village of Colmonneĺ and I needed to find a ladies loo..|We spotted the pub and were informed that they were closed... however they very kindly opened up so that I could use the loo and Helen put the coffee on... very kind nd made us most welcome.. . After reading the menu we will definitely be back on open days.... |thank you.|
Went for an evening meal, couldn't fault it at all, for a small village hotel the food and service were both excellent, our steaks were cooked to perfection and were delicious, the owners are very friendly and welcoming. The prices are great for the quality of food. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend.
We decided to try out the Boars Head as it was 5 miles from where we were staying and would make a nice halfway lunch point. Are we glad we tried it out first, the beer was cask John Smiths with little choice and the the bar was pretty awful decor wise and atmosphere wise. No idea what the food is like and to be honest had in intention of finding out. port in a storm maybe, night out no chance

We have stayed at this hotel a few times as we have family who live in the village. Love the hotel!! Very friendly atmosphere and the owners Helen and Paul can't do enough for you!! Rooms are big and airy and very clean. Food in the hotel is of a very high standard and very reasonably priced!! We love it there and will definitely be back!!
Great pub/hotel made to feel welcome from the minute we arrived , food was excellent steaks were Delicious credit to the chef ( duke) would recommend staying here locals really friendly made to feel welcome credit where credit due Paul and Helen run. Cracking hotel
