Not what it used to be, still has the odd few stalls that would have an impact on daily decisions. Bought a couple of fine woven blankets in various colours a few years back, and they were effective. The business hours are good, but best give the market manager a call before visiting or check Wolverhampton Council's site.
It's a market alright, with lots of meat and fish sellers.
There were shoes at competitive prices as well.
Kitchen appliances were present with negotiable prices too.
It was a busy day when I visited, crowd were dropping in, which looks as though the prices and bringing in the people.
The market is just located opposite the bus station after your drop off at bilston station.
Indoor market with car park next door. Car park is very busy you may have to drive round a couple of times before finding a space. Typical small indoor market with a number of stalls selling most things you can think of. Sometimes has an extended outdoor market. The one and only reason I will go here is Harpers butchers, and only because they no longer deliver to my area.
Always a great place to go if you need anything can always find what you want. Starting to pick up on outside stalls now weather picking up giving even more choice. Thursdays for me is a good day but parking a nightmare.
I went yesterday to the indoor market as suggested by one of my clients, for diabetic socks. There was a nice homely atmosphere, unfortunately the time I attended was nearly closing time. I will definitely be visiting again soon not enough time to check it out properly.
Amazing market. Meat and produce looks fresh, baked items looked fantastic, stalls looked exceptionally clean and everyone there seemed to have a real pride in their business. Place was buzzing, like like markets used to be. Only downside is most stallholders request cash only, so make sure you've got plenty of cash. But I would highly recommend it.
The sights and sounds of Bilston Market are something you'll remember for the rest of your days, its the kind of place tourists need to visit to experience the real black country people, so much to see and the parking is free too
Free parking, Bakery, shoe repairers, school uniforms, sweets, butchers, fish, toys, clothing, furniture stalls, I don't think there isn't anything you can't get from the market and the town always busy, other towns could learn from the experience, one of the best in the Midlands.
