Only place I've found where the fish is never overcooked and remains succulent with a nice light batter.The portion size is large as well.Been using this place for last 2 years with no complaints.
The best cod and chips we have had in a long time, Fresh, juicy and crispy.

After living in St. Leonards for 3 years last night we found the best fish and chips, having tried quite a few, none of the others compete. The fish was beautifully cooked in wonderful light batter and still very hot when it arrived. The chips were also excellent and just enough for the 2 of us. Only comment is why can't we order directly. Will continue to use Big fish from now on. We had huss (rock salmon).
One of the best fish and chips I have ever had and the service was speedy and friendly to boot!
The batter on the fish and the sausages was light and well seasoned, the portion of chips was massive, and the mushy peas were unexpectedly delicious compared to normal.
Not only was the food great but there is a massive poster on the wall showing all the allergens in their products! I strongly urge the owners to post a picture of it up with the photos here so future non-locals know this is the place to go if you want a great meal that's not going to contain unexpected allergens.
We have always been more than pleased with the food from this fish and chip shop, it’s been fresh and crispy when received.
But tonight it was awful. The food tasted as though it had been sitting around and reheated. We were so disappointed. Sorry big fish !

Friendly staff and usually great chips. Have had to edit my review as over the past 3 or 4 visits the quality of the chips has dropped. Now seem thinly cut and over cooked. A shame really . Since my last report I'm afraid the last of portion of chips have dropped in quality. Too much oil and undercooked at times.
