Berni's Sandwich Bar is a hidden gem nestled in the bustling streets of [Location]. As soon as you step inside, you're greeted by the mouthwatering aroma of freshly baked bread and sizzling meats, setting the stage for a truly satisfying dining experience.
The menu at Berni's boasts an impressive selection of sandwiches, wraps, and paninis, each crafted with care and attention to detail. From classic favorites like the BLT to more adventurous creations like the Mediterranean Veggie Wrap, there's something to tantalize every taste bud.
This is a really nice little place run by a lovely family. You can pop by for a sandwich, a wrap, jacket potatoes and a variety of mains (see the pic of the menu). I really liked their chicken escalope and "green flaxy" smoothie, and the coffee was nice, too. You can either eat in or get a takeaway. The place is airy (good from the pandemic perspective), and the owner was very kind and welcoming. It was a lovely experience, I'll come back again.
Came here for a quick bite and was happy I stopped in. Got a smoked salmon and egg set with a cup of coffee that was delicious. Service was pretty fast and friendly even though it was busy. Will have to try the traditional bean and toast breakfast next time I stop in.
Excellent place to have lunch. Food is just delicious and very affordable. Best quality/price ratio I have encountered in London so far. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Strongly recommend
I used to come here in 1996. It had the best lamb samosas in London.
Bernie's is an unpretentious corner cafe I love to visit for its jacket potatoes with a variety of toppings, all home-made. I particularly like the sliced-up warm chicken schnitzel with mayo.
They have lots of other fast meals like toasted sandwiches and smoothies, and a friendly husband and wife team to serve you.
And you can sit in the window and watch the cute Goswell Road student crowd swish by...

Avoid, unless you have cash on you. Went here on a visit to London a few months ago, and ended up getting charged 3 times for my food due to a problem with the contactless machine. I subsequently rang them - they admitted the error and said they would transfer me the money as soon as possible. I sent them appropriate details and they still haven't reimbursed me 4 months later despite my numerous reminder calls/texts.
If you're looking for a quick meal then this place is a good choice. I went here for lunch when I was working in the area. There was a queue almost out the door and it's clear this place is a hit with the locals. Food was good and from what I could tell the portions are a good size too, the average waiting time seemed to be about 3-4 minutes (hot food took longer). I'd happily go back here again if I'm working in the area. There is plenty of choice and prices are reasonable but there isn't much room to stay in and eat. With a large queue the place became crowded easily but otherwise it's a typical sandwich / cafe shop with hard working staff and a decent menu.
