Lovely cafe and helpful assistant. Had the double pie & mash and was very nice. The cheese chiabata was served with a side salad and doritos. All good and reasonable prices
This was our first visit, the windows were full of condensation and we couldn't see in so didn't know if it was even open.
We got in and seated ourself, the waitress came over to tell us they only had pie and mash left. Which was fine as that's what we were there for.
We got our drinks fairly promptly, then another couple came in, sat down next to us, the waitress came over and told them it was going to be a long wait for the pie and mash, but didn't tell us.
A few minutes later the waitress came back out to double check our order and the neighbouring tables order.
It had been about 30 minutes since we'd ordered down at this point when they bring out two pie and mash for the neighbouring table... The guy came over and apologised and said he messed up and did theirs first by mistake and ours wouldn't be much longer.
We were a bit confused but decided to give it a little longer. All the meanwhile I can hear microwaves dinging constantly and smelling a weird burning smell from the back.
I looked up to see if that ding from the microwave was ours that was done and I can see the guy counting money at the till instead of serving up our food.
We got up after nearly 45 minutes of waiting and told them we were leaving.
I only give the two stars because he didn't charge for the drinks, we offered to pay.
We won't be re-visiting and it's such a shame.
First time coming here over Christmas (just remembered to leave a review as I’m heading there again today) food was amazing! Most of all, the staff were so polite. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone ????
Can’t wait for pie and mash today
Came here with my toddler after my friend saying they had pie & mash!
Had double pie mash and liquor and shared with him, lovely service and friendly atmosphere! We’ll definitely be returning.

Came for a the pie and mash experience. First time I tried liquor with pie and mash. Was nice. Needed more seasoning and mash could’ve had more butter. Service was friendly and quick. Cafe was clean.
Ordered pie & mash for the family yesterday. As authentic as I have had out of London. Manzies supply this cafe and the owner takes great pride in preparing the food to the highest standards. Parents have today tried this and also love it.
Friendly and a warming environment to have food or drink.
Try the home made cakes, excellent.
Pie and mash was very authentic. Served real Manzes pie and liquor, with perfect (slightly lumpy as it should be) mash, smeared on the edge of the plate in the proper manner. Just like an old fashioned East End pie and mash shop. Good coffee and friendly service too. Will definitely be back.
Nice café in the town centre serving breakfast, lunch, warm/cold drinks and desserts. My beef lasagna plus side salad were delicious, but the other options looked appetizing too. Nice seating area, service, and tidiness.
