First time visiting this fish and chip shop and was very impressed with the quality and value for money of the food. We ordered the fish special which although it said lite bite on the box was a decent size portion and the side came in a separate pot so you can put it where you want. The food was delicious the staff were pleasant and the shop was spotlessly clean. Will definitely be calling back when we are next at Barnby Dun.
Decent enough chip shop selling decent enough fish and chips.
Nothing special, but then again not bad for the price.
Curry sauce was...'different!' Tasted more like gravy with curry flavouring.
Staff were very pleasant and didn't have to wait too long to be served.
Food was hot and well cooked.. Good sized portions ..value for money....helpful friendly staff....can't ask for more
Was here a couple of weeks ago..Chips okay but the peas are the worst peas from a chip shop I have tasted they was the cheap mushy peas you get in the tins from Asda well tasted the same and the fish was the 2nd worst fish I have ever had from a fish shop and I have had many all over.. The staff were good and pleasant and that’s why it’s not getting the one star but was very disappointed in the taste of the food sad to say.
I have used this chip shop for a while, since it was taken over from the last owners, when I read the reviewsame I was surprised, I feel that the staff are very polite and obliging with nothing been too much trouble. We my husband and I are both disabled and with the delivery service they provide at no extra charge is a real boost for the community.
Unfriendly place. One is greeted with a wall of signs forbidding customers to engage the fish fryer in conversation.
The fish and chips are nothing special and do not justify the high cost of 30% more expensive than any chip chop in the surrounding villages.
I called in on my drive through Barnby Dun, I won't be stopping again.
Normally ok but today was terrible! Bought some chips and scraps for my daughter as a Friday treat got them home and they were really brown in colour and were all hard and just not very nice at all. Sadly disappointed ☹️
Without doubt the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had the misfortune to be presented with. Inedible, straight in the bin, money down the drain.
