One of the most authentic Chinese restaurants I've been to. Food was awesome and very reasonably priced. There's some unusual choices on the menu if you're feeling adventurous! Will definitely visit again.

I almost didn't know when I passed the restaurant because there was a construction work going on and it covered the name of the restaurant. So, pay attention to your google map.
I love the lady that attended to us. She was patient, kind and courteous.

1 peppered chicken wings
1 diced braised chicken casserole in chestnut (so yummy)
Spring rolls for starter (we got two for free)
We got coconut milk to drink and it was absolutely lovely

Thankfully, the food saves this place. the food was nice, and the quality was really good. Portions size could be a bit more, especially the share boxes, which was close for 2, but we could still eat a little something more afterwards.
I do believe the delivery service needs to highly improve, took 2 hours instead of 45 mins. For the delivery driver (bike) turned up to question who ordered the food and questioned who he'd rung, one of us was outside sorting the order out for nearly 5 minutes just to confirm it was the right place he delievered too. We had to take the food off him to get served up as it was warm when it turned up.
As a first-time customer, I wouldn't recommend anyone to get for delivery, and we won't be back. The service might be better in the restaurant but can not comment.
Took almost 3 hours to be delivered and when it finally came the food was lukewarm. Rice was burnt and the salt and pepper chips that was ordered were just ordinary chips. Salt and pepper chicken was cold and had no taste. Not worth the money!
The food is very delicious and I am happy with all the service. I do recommend this wonderful restaurant in Sunderland.
Barshu exceeded expectations with its authenticity, quality, and service. It’s a must-visit for anyone craving a taste of China’s rich culinary heritage. This restaurant is a testament to the art of Chinese cooking and is undoubtedly a jewel in sunderland dining scene.
Take away some dishes. The Singapore chow mein is incorrect made, there is no king prawn no sweet pepper no eggs… a totally just a plain noodle.
Try to support the local business but the restaurant keep disappointing us from time to time by poor quality ingredients, wrong orders…
The dining area and service need a big improvement too.
