Great craft beer/taproom in Haywards Heath. Despite what others may tell you they haven't taken the kings shilling from a big brewery and offer a fantastic range of local and nationwide craft beers. Exceptional choice, in lovely surroundings. Was extremely busy with families and groups all enjoying the really nice atmosphere they've created. Happily go back when in the area.
We love this bar. Its a lovely, unpretentious place with a good selection of beers, wines, spirits and other drinks. Staff are always friendly and very helpful. I love tasting a few beers before choosing which one to have, and they are always patient, attentive and unhurried in their approach.
It's a great addition to the Haywards Heath bar scene and a nice compliment to a couple of other tap-room style venues.

Had an amazing staff Christmas party hosted by the venue! The bar staff were very helpful in corresponding with me to help organise things and were always positive and accommodating. As far as food/drink, while some may find it a little pricey, I think it was well worth it given the nice selection of beverages available alongside the charcuterie boards (a good few of us enjoyed the Ditchling sparkling wine!). The atmosphere and venue itself felt very cosy and inviting; while it was packed with the 50+ of us that attended, I have no doubt that it would be perfect for smaller groups or as a place to just chill!
All in all, hosted a very successful party for us that I am very thankful for! Would recommend to try either as a venue for your party or as a nice wee place to relax with a tipple.
Bar 42 in Haywards Heath offers a fantastic atmosphere that sets the stage for an enjoyable evening. The ambiance is inviting and perfect for a night out. What truly impressed me during my visit was the friendly and attentive staff. They went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great time.
There was a memorable incident during my visit when a customer accidentally pulled on their table, causing a glass vase to fall and break. However, the staff handled the situation with professionalism and efficiency. They quickly cleaned up the mess, ensuring the safety of all patrons, and the person responsible left without any fuss.
This incident highlighted the excellent service and composure of the staff at Bar 42, making it clear that they know how to manage unexpected situations while maintaining a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for all their customers.
Held a small party here for family and friends and had a fabulous time. Staff were amazing, food delicious and the beer outstanding. The bar is a great addition to Haywards Heath, we absolutely love it there.
Just what Haywards Heath was missing. An amazing bar with great staff and fantastic selection of local beers, wines and spirits. Great outdoor area and a decent selection of sharing platters (food). Would highly recommend to anyone in the Haywards Heath area.
This is a great new addition to Haywards Heath. A great selection of local and unusual beers and wines, including the relaunch of Hofmeister! Lovely staff and a grown-up and welcoming atmosphere.
Stumbled across this new bar which had a great atmosphere. Good music, lovely choice of craft beers and tasty mocktails. I had a dream factory which was lovely and fruity, and my partner had a mojito, which was also lovely. Got to sit on a beach out in the sunshine, soaking it up. Staff were friendly and some of the tables even had packets of cards on them which was a great little touch. Looking forward to our next visit.
