Dropped my car off to get my wheels aligned. Came back with a broken handle. Wouldn’t repair on the day as they have to go home at 1:30pm sharp on a Saturday. As most garages do - completely claims it was my fault, although it wasn’t a problem at the last garage. Where they managed to not break anything. Initially they tried to sell us a new handle. Which we declined.
When I called to discuss this the man on the phone got agitated straight away. Putting the blame completely on me - even though I wasn’t there.
He told me “out of the kindness of his heart” he would repair it for free - something that he broke (in my opinion this would be the absolute bare minimum.)
I’m uncomfortable returning my car to this garage as after being completely blamed and gaslit for their accident who knows what else they’ll “find broken” and need me to pay to fix.
Then to add insult to injury they decided to stick their business sticker into my back window without permission. As if I’d like to be driving around advertising the service I’ve just received!!!!!
Don’t trust the good reviews, carried out a poor job and their customer service was shocking.
A simple apology and taking a bit of responsibility for their mistake wouldn't go amiss. All they’d have need to said is “unfortunately there was an accident and the handle was broken. We apologise and we can either replace it or if you’re not comfortable we can deduct the cost for the part off your bill today”. Now not only will I be needing to get this service redone - I’ll be out of pocket for a door handle replacement too!

We've used Autowerke in a couple of different situations now (MOT for one car and a new battery on the other). Only ever pleasant interactions both in-person and on the phone and they do a great job for a fair price! They will also pick up and drop off your car (for an additional cost, of course), which many other local garages have told us they no longer do. Highly recommended.
I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with Auto Werke for a couple of years now. I’ve only had positive interactions with the staff and they’ve looked after my car, both for MOT’s and general repairs, with professionalism and transparency. They collect the car from my house and drop it off when they’re done. A real credit to the local area, I feel fortunate to have such a great garage nearby. I understand they also support the local food bank, which is great to hear. I would - and do - recommend Auto Werke with complete confidence. Lovely people and impeccable service.
Found my new garage - these guys are brilliant. Accidentally got tied up with work and had to leave my car overnight, called garage after closing time and the owner picked up and was so friendly and reassuring. Said that his customers are his friends, and this is exactly how it felt. MOT was done quickly and professionally.
Booked in, drop van off they had it ready to go the next day which saved our weekend! Great guys, would definitely recommend them to others, cheerful and friendly, will be using them in the future for all our car related needs.

Booked my car in for an MOT and a service and they had it turned around within 2 hours. Really friendly guys doing impeccable work at a better price than any other mechanic of this quality. Can’t recommend enough.
Steer clear of Auto Werke. They are untrustworthy on price and poor on quality of work.
One month after a clean MOT from Auto Werke, the car broke down and needed a new starter motor, alternator and battery. I appreciate an MOT is not the same as a service, so I'm not faulting them for that.
I found online there were many suitable alternators hundreds of pounds cheaper than what the garage quoted me. They immediately said they'd match these lower prices, without even asking to see what I'd found online - the inference being they were initially trying to overcharge me for parts and/or labour.
After ostensibly fixing the car, I immediately found there were additional faults not present when the car first went to the garage, in particular the air conditioning wasn't working. Having returned the car to the garage, I had no call or message. When I called, I was told they had already fixed the additional faults and I would be presented with a further bill for further parts and labour - I was never given a quote in advance to authorise before they went ahead and did the work. When I picked up the car the second time, I immediately found the air conditioning was still not working. They refused to give me a refund so I could go to another garage. They took a look and ostensibly fixed a fuse, which should either have been fixed in the first place, or which suggests that the additional expensive repairs had been misdiagnosed.
Auto Werke refused to give me copies of the underlying invoices they had paid suppliers for the replacement components across the initial and supplementary repairs, so I could check that they weren't overcharging me. They simply said they wouldn't do this, without giving any reason. They accused me of being "ridiculous" and of "behaving like a child". When I said I would raise this with the relevant authorities, the garage manager said I should go ahead, and threateningly claimed he was a "lawyer".
There are some glowing reviews on Google. However, the garage is in a wealthy area, and many customers probably don't check whether they are being overcharged for components and/or labour. The managers are also good at engaging in light banter (at least before issues are raised), which superficially inclines people to positive reviews. The garage is also keen on greenwashing: adding a charge to each invoice - paid by the customer, not the garage - which goes to a tree planting charity. These are not sound reasons to trust a garage with your car.
