What an amazing place! The food, atmosphere, and owner are all brilliant.
I ordered their katsu curry and katsu don, which are both beautifully made with fresh ingredients. For dessert, I always go for the mocha cake, which is soft and creamy. The portion sizes are just perfect, and I always leave the café feeling satisfied.
The café is nicely decorated, with lots of plants for scenery, as well as a games area, which is a great way to socialise while you wait for/finish your food. They have a pool table and a dart board, which are free to play. It is also located just across Bay Campus, which is very convenient for students when they are hungry.
The owner is lovely and extremely welcoming! She always has a warm smile on her face, and it is always fun to talk to her.
Overall, this is a 10/10 place, and I would highly recommend everyone come here!

The food was really delicious! I had the Kastu Curry (£6.50), a slice of strawberry cream cake (£3) and a latte (£2.50). The food was so satisfying, freshly made to order. The owner bakes the cakes herself too and the cake I had was so delicious and so was the coffee ???? Very affordable prices and it was a little quiet when I ate here but the customers that were there and the owner were lively and very friendly!
I highly recommend this place for breakfast/brunch/lunch especially if it’s on your way :) Can’t wait to eat here again! ????
You know when the food is so good you're still thinking about it later? This was one of those places for us.
We checked this place out for lunch since it mentioned it was authentic Japanese. As we went during COVID, they closed the upstairs for now but the lady owner was so friendly to greet us downstairs where there was a table. Right from the start, the Japanese lady was so inviting and made us feel welcome.
The location is a bit unexpected as it's located in the Bay Studios behind the car dealership. Fortunately you can park around there for free.
We asked her for recommendations and she mentioned the katsu chicken as well as the vegan don. At the end we had three dishes; the katsu chicken with tuna rice balls, katsu baguette and vegan don. It was all so scrumptious and fresh, we devoured it all.
The katsu chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside as it should be. The vegan don is still on my mind. I'm not a vegan but the way she cooked the cauliflower, mushrooms, homemade pickles and sauce with rice was so refreshingly different. I would pick that again! Even though her menu was small, you can taste the quality and care that she puts in making the food.
This is a hidden gem. Domo arigato!
The lady that runs it, Itsumi is a really wonderful woman and let me stay for a slice of cake which was delicious, even though she was closing. I'm definitely going to come back to try more food. It was hard to find but I rang her and she came out to meet me which was so sweet. I'll add pictures to make it easer to find. It's the side on the studio facing the road but was surprisingly quiet and very peaceful inside.
Me and my boyfriend went for a date here and have to say what a beautiful little cafe its a hidden gem everyone 100% needs to try this place

This cafe is such a calming and relaxing atmosphere. Izumi the lady who runs the cafe is such a joy and so lovely and kind and welcoming ! The food is beautiful and so is the service. I highly recommend visiting, you will have an amazing time and will want to come back again and again ☺️
Honestly, it was an absolute joy eating here. Izumi is so friendly and helpful and was amazing to chat to. She helped us find the place, even came out to locate us. The food was phenomenal and great value and the service was second to none. This little place, the food and Izumi are a real credit to home cooked Japanese food and I cannot reccomend it enough. The cake was incredible as well but unfortunately that was eaten before I could take a picture
Can't wait to come back here again. The place is really lovely the way it's decorated. Such a vibe! Plus the music is relaxing especially after coming from a long lecture. The owner makes you feel so welcome, she's a star. I had the katsu curry which I loved. Portion size was perfect, filling and nutritious . I felt energised, fueled up and ready for all my next lectures✨️✨️✨️
I also got a slice of the apple pie to take away with me. Delicious dessert ????
