Excellent service! diagnosed my problem very quickly and had me on the road. Only drama was it took them over three hours, when it is a 20mins drive, but I realise I’m not the only breakdown in this area.

I think your driver needs to Redo his CPC qualification as he is parked on a blind corner on a small close there is plenty of long straight areas he could park in walking distance this is a very dangerous act and have reported to the council.

After many attempts to get our vehicle recovered (3 at least!), finally someone who cared, 'Jon', asked all of the relevant questions "What exactly is the van?" (although mentioned to others, it wasn't taken in), "How long is it", "What weight does it have in it?" aaaaaaand finally our van was rescued!...and super efficiently too!! A kind and courteous gentleman.

3 stars is only because of the rigmarole of others. Jon gets a thorough 5☆ rating! Van and stranded driver are back safe and sound after a 10hr unnecessary ordeal!

Weren't particularly willing to help us when we had a major puncture. Didn't appear to know what to do, or be able to offer to put us on a truck and take us home. Hence the bad review.

It was a busy night but I was constantly informed of how long my breakdown would take. The mechanic was very pleasant fixed the issue and gave me advice.

I have read the reviews and I totally understand . But those complaining probably don’t have a clue what actually is going on behind the scenes . They get calls privately , they are used by the AA and also the police use them in emergencies . Your call might go in but at the same time two for horrible accidents or people broken down in unsafe places ! Your recovery driver has no clue ! He gets the order he goes and he will help you politely and efficiently . Don’t have a go at your rescuer ! He is doing his best as fast as he can . No I don’t work for Ashley wood or have any association! But I talked at length to our hero rescuer and I realized that people are very quick to judge in stressful conditions . Ask your recovery driver ! Talk to him , perhaps he was late because he just recovered a fatal?!? Don’t write negative feedback unless you have the full facts and were genuinely let down !!! Yes we waited a long time ! But I totally understand the procedure that occurred and frankly I’m impressed in the circumstances . So when your rescuer arrives give him a smile .

What a disgrace for a recovery service both Ashley recovery and AA STAY AWAY CLEAR FROM THOSE THUGS AT ANY COST BETTER ALONE OR ANY OTHER RECOVERY COMPANY OUT THERE. 8 HOURS YET STILL STRANDED. AVOID AVOID

Ashley Wood were contracted by the AA to assess and if need recover our vehicle. They arrived promptly and despite me telling the recovery man the issue he did not listen. We did not have a battery issue and the fault was (with us knowing) the low-pressure fuel pump. This was ignored by the recovery man and with no diagnostic testing done at any point he applied a jump pack and attempted to start it; surprisingly it didn’t start. Without taking this as an indication he tried a further 5 times all whilst never looking at any other issue!! Once he was satisfied that it was a non-starter and to who knows what further damage caused he stated that the car would be taken to their compound overnight. I said this was unacceptable as the garage had already stated they were happy to accept. Only once I had called AA who agreed with us did they agree to take it to the garage. To make matters worse, once the car was on the flat bed lorry, it was not secured properly and he drove erratically throughout the 15 mile journey. He offered very little help or assistance and made us push the car, apply the towing hook, steer the car onto the flat bed and further carry out the tasks he requested despite him being the supposed “expert”.

Extremely unprofessional, rushed and all round shocking service. Had we known the danger we were putting our car in we would have requested a different company!!
