Yes!!! The Metro has made it to Ashburn! It’s 3 miles from my house and so happy about that. I took some photos regarding wheel chair access. Getting to the metro from the kiss n ride looks seamless. There is an elevator you can use to get from the parking lot to the metro area. There’s a parking garage very close. Getting to the metro parking can be accessed via Claude Moore or Croson lane. These are photos from the South side, the North side can be accessed via Loudoun Station.
Very clean and new Metro station! Station manager was nice and helpful. The station also feels safe during the day and night as crime is lower in Loudoun County compared to DC. The only downside is that you’ll also find some fare gate jumpers (just don’t confront them and it’ll be fine), but that’s not a problem since they’re at almost every Metro station.
A clean and easy to access parking garage. Plenty of parking available, and only $5 ($4.95) per day. Which for a whole day in DC thats a very reasonable fee. Easy to get in and out of.
It's a parking garage, not the Ritz Carlton. They tell you how many spaces per level when you pull in and it has markers over the spots to tell you if they're empty or not, although half of the time the empty ones are handicapped spots. It has an elevator. Relatively spacious. Feels like the walk to the actual station is about 10 minutes, so have fun in winter. You don't have much of a choice, so I'm not sure why you need to read a review.
Great facility that allows you to visit downtown DC by metro while using your car to drive to the outskirts of the city. We used on a Saturday, and it was very quiet. Hopefully commuters use it during weekdays. The daily rate of $ 4.95 is very good/reasonable.
I entered before seeing the people I was meeting so was only inside for a minute, so called the attendant to get him to let me out and was told, I still had to pay the $5 to get out. What a racket! Also the smart trip tap was out of order, so couldn't use that either to get out. For a quick stop, use the Kiss and ride GPS directions and avoid the parking garage
No overnight parking, flat rate even on weekends. What's the point?
I'd love to use this to metro to the airport, but WMATA makes it impossible to leverage their own system!
The garage was inexpensive and very convenient to take the metro to DC.
