Almost $800 later and 2 months later I had to go tow my ford ecoboost to a different shop to rebuild my motor. They kept trying to talk me into putting a used motor into it that had more miles on it than the one that went out. I almost gave in to a used motor for the same price as a rebuild!!! They could have pulled the motor and sent it to someone else to rebuild if they weren’t capable??? So 2 months later I called around to some different shops and the very first shop I called told me to bring it to them and they would rebuild it. The second shop told me they didn’t really get into motor rebuilds. (I really appreciated that they were upfront with me about that!) So I was out 2 months and $800. And no better off. I’m sure they have certain things they are good at and I’m not trying to say they aren’t a good mechanic shop. They might be. But for what I needed and anyone else who might need what I did go somewhere else. Don’t pay for a used motor swap for the same price as a rebuild!!!!
The staff is very nice and friendly, and they do know what they're doing, but here's my issue.
I brought my car there for a running lean issue, and I had to wait nearly 2 weeks to drop off my car, and then a whole other week for them to get it actually in the shop being worked on. All they did, is find out that if my MAF sensor gets unplugged, it runs rich, rich enough that it's not any better for the engine than running lean. I replaced the MAF sensor. It was not the issue. Then I was told that they can't do any more because it's "Out of their pay grade."
I would have paid extra for them to finish the job, but instead we got charged $112 for them to unplug a sensor and plug it back in, and not only that but we had to wait 3 weeks for it. Thoroughly disappointed.
EDIT: I just fixed my car after spending a long week digging into it. And it does not have anything to do with a tune like you so suggested. It was due to an exhaust leak, that was causing the sensors to read lean, when it was actually running rich to compensate for reading lean. Isn't it crazy how a 16 year old with very minor experience working on cars was able to do what YOU, the PROFESSIONALS should've done? Especially after charging me $112. I will not be taking any vehicles here in the future.
The service is professional and high quality. Arick really knows what he's doing when it comes to auto repair and even helped me find the best deal on my new breaks and rotors. Cannot recommend enough!
